US protectionism is rule number one. Sofar he fair chance for everyone. They will schange somehow a rule so one has to be crazy to join. But on the other side, the Russians seem desperate to me if they really think that it would work. What is next? Offering US PAKFA and TOT?
About cluster bombs – many countries have agreed not to use them because they persist and kill people after any military confrontation is over. I take it that India is not thinking of going down that route.
These terms are as empty as UN conventions. When it suits western powers use all kinf of weapons. There was no Geneva convention stopping Fallujah or Irac invations. Neither did it stop Israel using Posphor grenades or violence against civil population. I think the western ideology is purely defending its own purposes. If shot down pilots during Irac war were displayed it was criminal. The same west passed everything by opening Guantanomo and even put arrested people on planes so they “not” abused laws. How much of hypocracy do we have there? I think it is Indian right to buy and use it. Wartime is not restricting any rules for the western nations, I think it should be equal to all. I think we have seen how climate conference was manipulated by the rich nations to gert advantages, we should try to see the facts rather the usual windowdressing in western media.
Yeah, suspected as much. Tragically for you both that is the basis for your arguments and opinions. You just tried to accuse a senior PAF officer of sayingdetrimental things about LCA without knowledge of the facts when both of you (probably after searching Google in a panic!) have no evidence to support your claims.
This is embaressing isit not? Especially when on this very thread a few posts ago I was asked for a link about my claims regarding IAF loding a protest to USAF and put up my evidence immediately…
Rimmer,
Oneliners with some copy paste work is usual what shows that there is lack of scientific research. Then you get personal remarks and in the end you have to defend at several topics all about the same. It is a circle we see repeating so it is fun to beat it with facts.
Against much bigger combined forces of China and Pakistan our best bet will be on such smart and asymmetric weapons.
As if China will invade with huge number of tanks… All driving down the Himalaya just beating the 8000+m mountains. And how asymetric is the relation to Pakistan. Just looking at the numbers I would conclude that Pakistan should get them. What do you think will happen if you brake through the tanklines of a nuclear opponent? Exactly that is what lacks in these “funny” cartoons or simulations. Zero depth.
Quadbike:
Objectivity and facts are both very valuable in discussions. Everyone can produce opinions but who cares about that?
And just explaining what someone else said without looking at facts or logic does not mean that we all can take it as the one and only truth. Atleast I will provide the Indian journalist low quality report. I am suprised he makes such conclusions like aircraft x is not manuevrable or it’s dashboard is like a cheap car… It is not a cheap paper but the average Indian media.
IAF to get CBU-105
Comment in the movie is very unprofessional.
As a testament to the professionalism of the IAF, Air Marshal Fali Major appreciated the JF-17, when he sat in a JF-17 simulator at the SIngapore Air Show. He was frank and honest. In sharp contrast, a former PAF chief about 8 years ago, had the unprofessional attitude to make some unsolicited comments about the Tejas’ avionics (even though he had never seen been in it’s simulator in personal capacity). This contrasting episode speaks volumes.
Can you compare what the LCA cockpit was back then and now? Can you even give comment about Indian sitting in the JF17 cockpit and telling that it was not good…?
hey just wanted to know how would paf counter pak fa and x winner of mrca????
JF17-II and FC20
Got to love how the Chinese apparently are stealing yet again the intellectual property of others.
Disgraceful.
Well, we do not know the details of (any) deals with the original producer. So jumping to these conclusions is not correct. That the Chinese learn from others by copying is nothing unusual. The Japanese did the same. The Koreans or Taiwanese are no different. You know hoe people reacted in “made in Japan or Taiwan”… Maybe you can call some other nations not much different cause they almost bought everything and call it indigenous. But isn’t it logical to do it that way? Do you expect that these developing nations follow the exact long path as the others? Do you think that other nations that are developed do it the correct way? Just look how JSF partners bleed cause they somehow sell their soul cause they want to join. I think that posting oneliners is easy but the problem is that you cannot expect that is is seen as a serious post. I do not hear you about Apple being furious about HTC stealing their ideas or the other way around… Attacking China is so easy.
But how would they do against Rafale, EF2000, Block60 or F22? I am still amazed that this thread is stil open after flaming remark of Griffon.
If you still want to say its the offical word of USAF and its the word of one AF against the other then you are realy biased in your belief that Su 30 did not do well at Nellis.
I do not think you understood the concept of a forum and neither should you dictate others to accept your opinion as facts. The MKI was not in full mode and did not even participate as real a2a asset. I think that says everything. Let us forget the discussion cause it is going to make neither of us happy.
Pakistan is getting the AH 1 Z (Super Cobra or Viper if you prefer) in 2015 ain’t they. In all probability IAF will go for the Apache Longbow.
The carrot is shown but I doubt that they will get it anytime before the AH1Z is older then 30 years. Who will pay it? When will it be delivered and what will be included? Las but not least, which restrictions will be forced? All in all, there is zero chance they will get it. If you read the march 2010 edition of AFM you will see that even Alan Warnes is questioning how it is possible that the US asks Pakistan to fight the tough WOT but at the same time delivers unupgraded three decades old few Cobra’s.
That nothing compared to the Su-30 having “Tumansky Turbojets“…
To tell ya the truth… I have been talking to pretty good trained F16 pilots with more then a few trainings and titles and they did make more then a few mistakes talking about their own plane. I am not wondered that during some presentation he forgets x and y etc.
Boeing is bidding this time because there is no restrictive clause as in the first time, but Eurocopter is no longer bidding with its Tiger (it was in the original IAF tender)
I said it may. It probably will if they do it the normal way. Americans unlike the Russians are known to deliver their stuff on time or early.
I think Apache is going to win the IAF tender of 24 attack choppers. The first may arrive by the time Pakistan is getting the Super Cobra.
I doubt they will go for super cobra.
I think they will win…it will also coincide with the LCA engine selection.
The reluctance to sell the U-212 subs to Pakistan is also probably a show of faith from Germany.
U214… And it is not their problem to sell but probably related with the French willing to provide sweets for certain people. I do not see the relation to the topic and adding Pakistan to it. Please try to make not cheap moves in your post.
