Like Andrew I see a/c land at LHR or rather on glide path but only if their coming in on 27L/R and then they might be at 5000 feet so not always easy to see. Sunday mornings is generally the best time to see a/c coming in, mainly B747s and A 340s and 330s, and any other long haul a/c.

This mornings papers were full of the hot weather and how commuters suffered temperatures of 40-45 degrees on crowded underground and buses……………what about the drivers? we had to suffer those temperatures for anything up to 8 hours, at one point the temp in my cab was 48C, I swear Ive lost a few pounds in weight this week.

We still run on time, no melting tarmac or twisting rails stop us from running a service, in fact August is the best month as there are fewer cars on the road due to people on vacations. The only problem we get is overheating, but not to often.

I m afraid Im not a sun worshipper so roll on November and lets have some frost, no bugs or spiders or moths or flys, and I can get a good nights sleep.

North of the Watford gap?? what, convert it into a transport cafe on the M1?………..original!:D 😀 http://smilies.sofrayt.com/%5E/x/popcorn.gif

Or maybe sell one to the guy who bought the Queen Mary and set up yet another theme restuarant.

or fly one out to Las Vegas and turn it into a gambling casino
(Wouldn’t be that far from Mojave then would it?)

    The possibilities are endless

I remember the crash well as it happened about 3 weeks before my parents were due to fly out to Italy and really put the wind up my mother. Everyone on board were killed (118 I think)
