    RE: Unusual Weather Occurances

I dont think the heavy rain is anything to do with the ozone layer being destroyed , in fact I think I remember reading somewhere not so long ago that it was actually repairing itself.

It’s probably down to global warming as a whole , naturally or unnaturally (burning of fossil fuels, depletion of rain forests etc!)

The warmer the equatorial regions the more water vapour is turned into storm clouds then we get a knock on effect as it were, the UK is not the only place on Earth thats being affected, as you say its quite wide spread, and I honestly think the “damage” is irreparable.

We’re just gonna have to adapt!!

Well put,I get a number of people who like to ridicule me and others like me for jotting down numbers, but as you say , it’s what we like to do, wouldnt it be a boring world if nobody had a hobby

I’m glad the spotters were found innocent, perhaps they’ll know better next time than to go around taking photos of military aircraft, there are those that get a teeny bit touchy about it, especially anywhere in the eastern Meditteranean

I also like old aircraft and museums and airshows, and reading up on the movements of commercial aircraft etc, and, well, almost anything to do with aviation.

We’re not all just number jotting anoraks y’know!!

That’s the point, to cause as much inconvenience as possible, however much the union denies it.
After all, I cant see the Green Godesses standing by, can you ?
so an early agreement would be beneficial to everyone involved

RE: And the worst songs this year?

[updated:LAST EDITED ON 12-11-02 AT 10:07 AM (GMT)]Cant really add to that lot , except agreement

The worst song in my opinion at the moment is Strereophonics-Nothing Compared to you

I think they’re a very good band with a great singer in Kelly Jones but this one just dont do it for me,

Sinead O’Connors version was sung with conviction, feeling, and a lot of soul

The Ketchup Song? man! if thats all you remember your holidays for then it couldn’t have been that good.

We had “Macarena”(is that right?)then “Saturday night” and probably a few others that thankfully escape my memory, europop to me is eurotrash!!

You aint no spring chicken mate, I’d forgotten those albums, especially the Bluesbreakers , I first bought the album in 1968 and lost it somewhere along the line,I then bought a replacement about 5 years ago from a record collector for £10.

that Jimmy Page/BlackCrowes album sounds interesting.

[updated:LAST EDITED ON 11-11-02 AT 12:58 PM (GMT)]… but you dont consider Santanas music outdated? after all he’s been playing that latin rock for over 30 years now but it’s still as popular, if not more.

    Wysiwyg

When I’ve had my brains blown out by the likes of Oasis and any other modern rock bands, I can think of no better way of chilling out than laying back with a large scotch and listening to Nat King Cole sing “Let there be love” Yeah yeah! I know it’s sounds cheesey

Did I also mention that I love JAZZ?

    Dave 😀 😀
