    RE: How old are you?

My God!! Is this thread still going?? I’m sure I was a young man when it started!

Hiya Dakota, you must be the oldest fart here now, you’ve certainly pushed us 50 somethings down the list.

    RE: Heathrow should close!

LHR should not be knocked down, as we’ve already ascertained it would cost hundreds, no thousands of jobs. But it is in desperate need of major refurbishment. Terminals 1,2,and 3 are much to close together causing congestion not only airside but also on approach roads. I’m not so sure it should be expanded either(re:T5)after all Luton is underused and to some extent so is Stanstead, surely some short haul flights could be transfered to these locations to ease the congestion at LHR and to alleviate crowded air space .

Stanstead has a rail link to Kings Cross station by Stanstead Express, and Luton has a rail link also to Kings Cross by Thameslink trains, although a short trip on a shuttle bus is needed. If these services are expanded on and made cheaper to use it could entice people to make better use of the two airports

    That’s my beef!!

    RE: The Washington Sniper

It wouldn’t surprise me if Bin Laden’s already thought of that, and who’s to say that this sniper isn’t something to do with Al Quieda???

[updated:LAST EDITED ON 23-10-02 AT 10:33 PM (GMT)]My fave guitar was quite well documented I thought , it’s Fender, either Stratocaster or Telecaster, although a Gibson Les Paul has a great sound. But these guitars are mainly used for rock, blues etc, the one Gibson I would like to own however is a 355 especially with twin humbuckers, mindblowing! The Gibson 135(I think thats the right one ) hollow bodied, great for playing jazz on.

Hand, do you play jazz? I try to but I need to structure it better than I do, my first love is blues, proper blues , you know ,pre-war rural type blues, I possess approx. 120 blues albums from Blind Willie McTell(1920s)to Peter Greens Splinter group(present day)but that’s elitist stuff, for everyday listening I like Oasis, Turin Breaks(you’d like them Hand, they’re essensially accoustic)Stereophonics, The Doves and similar bands, not bad for a 53yr old eh?

I have 21yr old son who plays in a band, he plays a Gibson Les Paul, he also has the same taste in music as his old man.

Whats the new pedal Kabir? is it a wah wah or a pitch shifter , or volume?

Next time try diet Coke, less sugar and that can play havoc with your catalyctic converter

“…probably wouldn’t know what to do with Alaska anyway”
but does the US know what to do with it?

So ! the secrets out, the Japanese did use Spitfires in WW2

out for a duck!(for those who dont know “a duck” is slang for the number of runs an English cricketer generally scores)

RE: PLEASE STOP THE MARQUEE TAG!!!

They’re very artistic, but hey! art for arts sake, this is a forum, which according to the Oxford English Dictionary means :

A place of meeting for discussion.

Besides , like Wombat, I haven’t got a clue on how they’re done anyway!!
