RE: His royal higeness prince Claus, prince of Orange has died
I’ve always thought the Dutch monarchy to be really cool , not as distant and out of reach as this lot in UK , a sad day for Holland

RE: Comet at Gatwick
It first saw service in 1958 with B.E.A. then later with Channel Airways(1970) and Dan Air(1972) before being bought by Gatwick Handling in 1978 where it was W.F.U. and was used for ground training, I’m not sure of its current status.

RE: Great time at LHR.
T5, one of the reasons you cant take shots of fast moving aircraft is you’re probably too near, try putting some distance between yourself and the runway then use the zoom to determine what size photo you want, also, try using a fast film, 400iso upwards(you can buy 1000iso films from specialist photographers) . I use a 15 year old Practica with a 220mm zoom lens and have got some pretty good take off shots from LHR .

RE: Cartoons
Hi Gary,
yes I used to draw quite a few cartoons especially when my kids where young, great for keeping ’em quiet, I’ll try and dig them out and scan them for you although they’re probably not the topic you want , mostly animals and the like, plus some topical ones from a few years back.
