survey
Hi All.
Just to bring this thread up to date in to saying that four of us went up to the Trident to conduct a structural survey to ensure that the trident would be suitable to move to its new home and ensure that it can stand on its landing gear again without being a danger to the public. The structural survey was carried out by a current certified aviation engineer based at manchester airport. The result was that the spars and points where the landing gear bolt on are in good shape. The landing gear itself will need some work to bring them up to a viewing standard but restorable. The fuselarge body is in very good shape considering its been open to the elements for best part of 26 years. All in all this plane is restorable and we are proceding to save this last aircraft. We ,with the museums permission ,are hoping to move the aircraft sooner so we can start the work next year and will be hoping to have the donation account set up in a couple of weeks now. We hope you all will be able to help us with this marvelous oppotunity to give this aircraft back to the british public.regards to all tony
