    Lightning XG332 Crash escape photo

That clears up one issue for me that there was a Buccaneer crash as well as the Lightning . I believe that George Aird flew the Blackburn B2 G-AEBJ at Hatfield Open Days in the 60s and 70s and also flew Mosquito RR299 , although I need confirmation of this, I am not sure if he flew any more fast jets though.

    strange nighttime howling jet aircraft

My question exactly. IGV’s and VIGV’s were fitted to older engines. Due to the improved flow technology in compressors they tend to have direct impinging fans. No IGV’s…

Having listened to videos it sounds like an Avanti to me

Did the same paint layout on Dominie ZK-AKU years ago and as far as I know it is still the same. Just conjured it up as a representative Transport Squadron scheme. loosley based on 42 Sqdn, RNZAF

Talking about Dominies what about one of the 125 Dominies at Kemble if they are still there

    Hi,
These are most likely Electras and ATPs of Atlantic Airlines which fly in and out at various times with freight

This is parked at Worldwide Aviation at Bournemouth.
It is in good condition, but minus it’s tail cone
I will keep an eye on it and report if there is any change
    Cheers,

EE Lightning Crash in Overburg SA

Looking at the photos of the fire, serious damage appears to have already been done to the rear of the aircraft. I wonder if anyone with Lightning experience can say how serious the fuel leak was. You could be forgiven for saying the pilot had little chance of avoiding a serious crash from the moment he left the ground.

Buccaneer XX897 is in good nick, flyable and parked round the back in European parking area, but needs money for proper restoration. There have been rumours of a purchaser in Ireland or the US

Does anyone remember the student as G-APLK at Hatfield during the 1970s doing a prolonged series of tests where it would run in wheels up down the runway for a good 2 hours at a time in conjunction with observers on the ground. What was the reason for these tests?

    Gnat G-NATY

G-NATY flew today 04/03/08 I saw it land at 13.10hrs
I have no other info about whether this flight was a preliminary to moving elsewhere other than Bournemouth and there is none on the website
