This year really has been dire down here in the West Country
Nothing new there mind:D 😀
These East Anglian fellows don’t know how lucky they are! Still there’s always Kemble…….
V.Nice, thanks for posting. Didn’t take long to walk round the static park did it?

Surely they do not have to destroy all the F4s?? Could they not destroy the main spar rendering them unflyable??
Unfortunately the aircraft covered by SALT have to be verifiable by satellite, meaning terminal cuts across the airframe. The aircraft are then left for a set amount of time (not sure how long) so the passing satellites can confirm that the airframe is no longer potentially operable. After that the scrappie comes in & finishes the job. Sad but true:(
XS459 at Walpole St Andrew July 2003
I’d donate some to Newark Air Museum so they could get some more of those great types indoors (how much hanger do you get for a million these days?). Top up the QRA shed funds at Bruntigthorpe & lastly get Beverley XB259 out of the rain at the Museum Of Army Transport. Think i’d have any change for Thunder City? Purely for research purposes of course……. 😀
I was actually let out of Somerset for a couple of days this week, so I happened to be at Duxford today:), all I can say is I certainly wasn’t expecting that! Never realised the 747 could be so agile, is this standard flying procedure for SA airlines?! If so I know where i’m off on hols next year……….. 😎
Great shots – nice to see some of the less prominant stuff recorded for posterity! Thanks for sharing.
By the way was that sat or sun?
have a look at the link below for more info on “presentation” spitfires, can’t help with current info though…
fascinating stuff! We really don’t have big enough gardens in this country. Love to see some more like this WD.
I’d go along with the MIG 29, although it was also nice to see the A10 back on the circuit. Overall though the Utterlly Butterly display has to shade it…….:D 😀 😀
Definitely a mock up! Took the family there a couple of weeks ago. Nicely done though – looks the part through an inch thick window anyway! As for the aquarium, worth an hours look round if you’re in the area, but not a patch on the one at plymouth. Tourist Guide out.
sorry, hamfistedness strikes again ; yes there was a comic called Beezer – seem to remember it was incorporated into one of the others – possibly Beano – in the early 80’s. Does anyone recall a comic (or strip) by the name of Whizzer & Chips, or did I just make that up in my head?

KevIt has to be Beano not Dandy – I always read the Bash Street Kids first. I remember Victor as well – later didn’t it merge with Valiant? – and those little WWII picture post books.
Also was there a Beezer?- larger size than Beano? Happy memories.
Moved onto American DC & Marvel later but they were really different.
Best Regards
