One of the newspaper sites is stating that the offence was caused because certain prostitute-hunting serial killers (whose names I can’t recall at the moment) were apparently truck-drivers at some point.

    Peter Sutcliffe.

    Thank you for the info.
The reason I asked is I was talking to some one at an auction in Gainsborough who said (friend of a friend blah blah, I know) he knew some body who found a spitfire when plowing a field. The aircraft was taken to a local museum and the farmer still has a propeller on his living room wall. I was told Sandtoft area.

    The RHS.45 Glasshouse Volant?

I have just tryd to google this and got nothing at all.

It’s a one-off first flown in 1950, and lost out to what became a classic Cessna type
    major US Army contract
The large perspex area to the rear is a dead giveaway as to its intended role

Was it up against the Bird Dog ?

Are we talking about bottom right in the last picture ?
Thank you for sharing Mark12, I saw these aircraft for the first time a few months ago and they are still amazing to see for the first time.
It was the first time I had seen Bf110 and Ju 88, I think we are pretty lucky somebody saved them for us.
