I havent been to Brooklands for years. We deliverd some porta cabins for use as class rooms. What a nice suprise when we got there, the driver just said we were going to Weybridge.
Is the Lancaster cockpit the replica that was on ebay ?
Is the film mock up the one used by the BBC for some thing like `Night Flight`. I always asumed this is what they had at Thorpe Camp, Lincs.
Seems to be the norm for airworthy restorations.
And if they fly I am not complaining.
, though it was a great technical feat and a propaganda success, and courageously executed.
As good a reason as any hp.
And why not remake the film in a way that was not possible in the original. Not to mention bringing it to a new generation.
Ps. In the vane hope that any one reading this is involved with the film, i would love to be an extra.
Gannet ready to leave Sandtoft for Elvington.

Moderators if you can do some thing about the size of these pics please do.
I dont think a Warbird needs to look imaculate. why dont we see restored aircraft with stains, patches ect.
I will go with Avenger too.
Is that cleethorpes ?
[QUOTE=Peter Garner;1300699]I haven’t seen “The Great Escape” but Luftwaffe Harvards can also be seen in “Where Eagles dare” and it seems that here they also got the markings right.
So what do you do on Christmas day:):):)
The Luftwaffe used quite a few of them. I think they were captured in France and then used for training duties. I have more and better pictures of some. I’ll have to dig them out.
Peter
So the airfield scene in Great escape is accurate:)
Are they CAF `baddies` ?
You think thats expensive. Did u follow the B2 link on the original link. If you kow what I meen.
I did that Lysander years ago before I moved out of my parents – I left a big Lysander wing outline on the carpet from spraying it black and forgetting the newspaper !!
Havent we all. I left a silver B17 outline. Ithought it looked pretty good.
Why not fly out the private/light aircraft that scatterd around ?
Forgive my ignorence. What is working the line ?
I see where you are looking now.:o
I was talking about the missing parts of the invasion stripes.
One impressive photo! Is it just me or can you make out the gear struts in reflection on the undersurface of the wing?
Or maybe even open under carriage bays peter ?
