With out meaning to cause offence, I think it is fair to say that this part of the forum is mainly populated by the more `mature members` of the forum.
On that note, it seems strange to me to see talk of people NOW not knowing how to conduct basic maintenance and repairs on their vehicles. On the whole it is the `younger` drivers who are driving the older vehicles that need regular maintenance and repairs from their owners and the more `mature` drivers who are driving the newer cars that have the servicing and maintenance packages.

It is something I have heard about on a few local radio stations around the country, recently.
One thing is for sure, if I was in the position of the people who lost their house, they would never get a penny from me. I would burn the house down and then the church !

The aircraft should have and still could pass into the ownership of the club rather than the operating company.
If the ‘hop’ is possible then Scampton has a runway and hangars that are protected. It has / will have The Bomber Command Museum.

I could get all angry but it would be nothing me and others have not said for years. They had us over a barrel to pay their wages. We enjoyed it while we could. Its over and one day it will be scrapped at DSA.

    Hi Chris

My opinion for what its worth. You say you are feeling pressured to decide what you want to do now, Good ! Historic aviation or aviation in general is not a job, it is an industry with trades and careers with in it. Take the advice from here and else where, decide what you want to do and start heading in the right direction. That maybe trade training it maybe a university course, from there you may go straight into an aviation related job or you may work in another industry and move on to an aviation related career at a later date. What ever path you choose, do it now. Educate your self while you live with your parents, work the low paid jobs while you live with your parents. Do not waste this time ! You have no idea how much harder it is to do once you are supporting your self.

Good luck, I wish you all the best.

Oh …. every now and again a knock on the right door does work.

Do you know i have never noticed anyone being forced to participate, contribute.I do wonder if the museum/favourite aircraft of some of the detractors on here was to try the same whether these people would knock that.God help that a Spitfire owner or B17 owner ever try to raise money.

558 is my favourite aircraft and I have no problem saying I am VTTS `detractor`.

I idly wonder from time to time, how many in the Vulcan administration are dyed-in-the-wool Vulcan enthusiasts and how many are there simply to ‘milk’ the continuing support ?

They are looking for new / are involved in new projects, so ….

If you need Howard to be distracted for a little while, one of you will have to take the bullet and ask him to tell you the `trading jam with Eastern European countries during the Cold war` story. That should give you a couple of hours 😀
