Around Old Warden this afternoon was a Hawk (jet) with a biplane and what was possibly a Magister. Does anybody Know what that was about ?
An excellent day out, the set up was very spectator / photographer friendly.
I agree, it does seem a very long time since we saw the Nimrod land at Elvington.

Could it be that you are presuming the contract was not completed?
Perhaps the contract was to recovery the P-40 and containerize it to a safe point of exit for onward shipping by sea/air/civil/military transport of the end users choice.
