Of course it matters ! If he has any respect for himself as a human being, equal to all other human beings.

First of all they have no rights from `God` even if this `God was to exist, even if we wanted a royal family surely we would want one with English heritage, they serve no purpose what so ever, they cost us massive amounts of money we do not want to spend and can not afford to even if we wanted to. Evil, selfish, inbreds

Please dont blame his ignorance on his youth. If we are old enough to post here we are old enough to remember, its not that long since Manchester and Canary Wharf. There have been bombings and shootings recently. He knows what they do, he just chooses not to accept it.

EGPH – ever heard there is a bomb scare on the street where your mother is working and waited alone at home for her to get back ?

I had to look up AN-4.

Antonov An-4 is the design bureau designation for the An-227, a variant of the An-2 intended specifically for the role of high-altitude meterological research with a glazed position immediately in front of the tail fin for an observer. The ZA suffix stands for Zondirovanie Atmosfery, translatable as ‘air sampling’.

Was it just an AN-2 ? I realy like these aircraft. Can they be flown on an ordinary single engine PPL ?

None of that messing about like with the Lightning, thats good old fashioned Yorkshire engineering. Though still hard work I`m sure. Good work guys.

I guess that was a bit of unessesary sarcasm there. I am not looking for an argument Martinez.

I do not know Merkle but I have seen this happen to him before. I would only be patronising him to try and fight his battle so I will leave it after this.

The thing is, he has a lot more aircraft there than I do and I have never saved a cockpit from the scrappers so who am I to judge.

I would have bought it. What better cockpit than this for a first project. It was relatively
cheap (I guess), it cant be wrecked, all those different jobs that need doing are good for learning/practicing skills that could be used on another projector later on.

For what it is worth I would try local colleges for night school metal work courses. You might even be able to get in there as a class project, getting skilled help/advice from the tutor and having a place to keep it for a while.

If it is to far gone, get it fibreglassed, gut the inside and put some flight sim gear gear in. You say you have kids, they will love it. We need to encourage the next generation. It wont be restoration or preservation but you will have something aeroplane shaped that looks pretty cool.

Yeah Merkle, you realy should not be spending your own money, you should not buy what ever you want, you should not be trying to do your own part for aircraft preservation and most of all, dont you dare enjoy yourself.
