A CEP of 1-1.5km is enormous… modern electronics and INS systems alone should shrink that by 70% at least. Then by firing 4 or 5 rockets with cluster munitions you could get quite a few aircraft sitting one airfield aprons. A very high altitude release of submunitions should make the task of interception difficult and before flights could continue a manual search of the runway and airfield would be needed to ensure that none of the very widely spread submunitions presented a danger. Of course the high altitude release of submunitions might fool them into thinking they had broken up prematurely and any submunitions on the runways might get a few fully armed and fuelled aircraft during takeoff or taxi.

I think the point is to make the bases disfunciton somehow. I am not aiming just to destroy all the aircraft on it, I don’t want NATO to be able to operate anything from those Airfields making them useless.

If I was NATO a few S-400s wouldn’t frighten me. For little cost I could send up dozens of UAVs armed with Hellfires to just keep attacking your S-400s. Lots of information will be collected and jamming techniques developed to defeat them. Those UAVs shot down will cost you at least one missile and those not shot down can do you damage. Of course if you had a layered defence with smaller systems overlapping your larger systems then you might get away with it but you would have to fully integrate everything… is fighters, jammers, AWACS, and long/medium/ and short range SAMs. The performance of the air defence network showed you know what you are doing, but lack the missiles to reach up and touch someone. A range of smaller cheaper missiles like the pantsir which can reach to 10,000m altitude and 20km range, which have sophisticated optronic, TI and MMW and CMW radar detection and tracking systems with relatively cheap simple missiles are a better solution because they are less likely to be overwhelmed as they can be used in large numbers. Also they can be used in passive modes that might even allow engagment of Stealth aircraft.

That’s true, but we need some sort of modern SAM which we can quickly move, incase of SEAD attacks. As for UAVs, how are usual UAVs operated? arethey launched from bombers or from airfields. see if we take those airfields out they wouldnt be able to operate them frm there.

We never hear anything about African wars, Liberia got a little attention, Bosnia did but otherwise nothing.

While hundres of people were being killed in Yugoslavia in 1991-1995 and HUNDREDS OF THOUSANDS were killed in Rwanda, where did they go to? Bosnia. West doesnt seem to care about Blacks at all.

GarryB I think it would be good to development some BMs, I really wouldnt waste them on London or Paris bombing innoncent civilians, I’d rather go and bomb the crap out of their airbases. I think 1-1.5 is a good range, its not that bad but I think we’d need something to take out all the nearest Airbases we could take out, namely in Italy and other countries.

I think in the future we should purchase the S-400 and PAK-FA(sopposed to be cheap) and this would give us a good defense. I think a few S-400 systems and at least 2 Squadrons of PAK-FA.

As for anti satellite missiles, can they be launched from the ground?

how was it our fault they bombed Serbia? Really we had no choice but to go into Kosovo and exterminate the KLA who were doinh hit and runs on our Police and civilians? I think you’d have done the same.

If we used ballistic missiles properly and thats to destroy their airfields, well so what.

If I’m not mistaken Serbia already has modified SCUDS with 400 km range, and an indigenous SRBM called the K-15 Krajina with a 150 km range.

WOAH is that a single battery and launcher that costs 900mil USD?(S-300PMU-1) I dont think thats the right price.

Russia media speculate that the Russian-Cyprus deal was worth something like 400-600mil USD and includes three batteries, with each battery including 12 launchers. Another source close to Russian Military leadership claims it was 20-24 launchers. State Committee of the Russian Federation for the Defense Industry reported that the purchase price of an S-300PMU-1 system was $91 million. LOL NOT 900 million, I think you added that extra 0 there by mistake. I think it’s same to assume the S-400 will cost more. anywhere from 100 to 150 million/system.

I think we can develop missiles ourselves or get em from the black market or from NK. The missiles we could get, how precise they could be I dont know, but if we hit those Airbases and destroyed at least half the aircraft on them would cause a havoc.

I am not talking about totally overwhelming NATO but just defending properly. It would also take time to build such a good defensive system, remember Russian SAMs are the best in the World.

I wonder how US would respond if we destroyed their Satellites out of orbit.

NATO has screwed us twice already, they screwed us in Bosnia, ok they made peace fine but they STILL wont let Serbs in Bosnia(Republic of Serbs) and Serbs & Serbia and Montenegro UNITE, which makes it just as bad. They allowed Croats to slaughter 300 000 Serbs in Croatia, and what happend? EU and NATO didn’t EVEN criticize Croatia, man how fair is that?

Then they support KLA and basically take away Kosovo from us. After they got back in they failed to protect the remaining 200 000 Serbs left in Kosovo, who are still being killed.

We have certainly gotten the ends of the stick in both of these wars.

I am starting to think that our politicians are kind of dumb, as well as our government. I mean we are STILL singing “Hey Sloveni” anthem from the former Yugoslavia AND we still dont have a 4C or anything of that sort on our flag, It’s pathetic, it’s a national embarrassment.

Yes it’s true it’s not our fault on the way we were screwed, but what can we do.

I think we SHOULD attempt to join the EU and have closer economic ties, but however I dont think we should join the NATO, in my view it’s economically as well as politically useless. I think we should just seek to be politically independant. I also see NATO being useless in the future by the EU.

As for weapons, why not get a few S400s to cover all of Serbia, as well as something like SCUDs to take out NATO Air bases in an event of a war or other SSMs, this wouldnt stop nato but cripple it. I am sure the S400 would cause havoc to NATO Aircraft. I dont see a point of geting 100s of Flankers or any of that sort because NATO will always outnumber us and will always have AWACS, something we cannot compete with.

The biggest threat might be the NATO Navies, get a few advanced aircraft with anti shipping missiles to cause havoc to their Navies, as well as some anti satellite missiles to knock out satellites.
Thats the beauty of it, we can get pretty much anything from Russia we want, however this would take time and money to build up a big defence like this. Hell why not 1-2 Cruise Missile Submarines to sneak around the Croatian Coast to take out NATO Airbases in Italy, which housed tons of Aircraft and some of the most important, ie like B-2s and F-117s etc.
