Yes, it’s important to have facts, real facts but many times things are not decided on facts. Just because you cannot find the wreckages or anything doesn’t mean you have not shot down something, many times planes fall into friendly territory which can easily be covered up.

I think Singapore should buy the F-15T just so Carlo Kopp and all those other Aussie analysts can run around screaming and pulling their hair out of their heads.

I don’t think that we should think about some idiots like that and what they say.

Apperantly they are looking for a good striker and M2K is probably a better striker than Mig-29, I am not really an expert on it but doesn’t the M2K better weapons than Mig-29?

I wonder how much is it to maintain and run a Mig-29M compared to Mirage-2000-5/-9? Vympel, you got any info?

I always thought, besides Mig-29’s crappy range that it’s maintenance cost was the biggest weakness.

Why are they building another Su-37 when there’s no point, Su-35 would probably be better for the market, I mean Su-35 is already an awesome dogfighter, why need for TVC when it will cost more, add more weight and less thurst after the weight addition?

The same thing can be said about Indian planes or military projects, such as the LCA, Su30mki or even Mig21bis. Everything is open to scrutiny through the actions of a aggressively free press, parliamentary committee work, public questionings of the Defence Minister, and official audits. Every wrinkle and wart is magnified 100 fold, and every flaw, real or perceived, is analyzed to the nth degree. Throw in former senior officers and scientists who are willing and able to comment in the press, and the result is a remarkably transparent process. By way of comparison, the cheerleaders of Indian peer competitors seem to rely on special insights derived from peering at crystal balls, reading entrails and quoting assorted secondary and tertiary reports of questionable quality. This void of information is wielded as both a shield and sword, with the ambiguity surrounding their pet projects used to deflect criticisms based on the scanty information available, even as it used to promote these good, but not exceptional, projects as the wonder weapons of the new century.

Completely agreed, and thats the nature of how democracy works, although it’s good but can be bad sometimes. See we cannot know anything about any Chinese Military programs because it’s communism, we do not know about any of the mistakes they make or anything good they do, because they keep it secret.

I am not really sure, they are both probably the same price when you take into account Mig-29’s expensive maintenance, there is already the support infrastructure for both of them but I am not sure about India’s latest news of it moving away from Western Aircraft and more to Russian Aircraft.

I am not really sure what the new gov’t will do but I would love for India to get either of them, I really think M2K is the best Western affordable fighter.

I don’t think we should assume PAK-FA will suck based on Russian economy, they have allocated their necessary funds and PAK-FA is the most important Russian AF’s project, even more important than upgrading Su-27s.

I too am not sure about PAK-FA being in the F-22, class, even if the Russians made it in F-22 class with all that exensive stuff, it just would be too costly like the Mig 1.44 was. PAK-FA is sopposed to be affordable.

I seriously think it will outclass everything except F-22, although not the US F-35 by a big margin.

Yahh everything points out that PAK-FA will be more like F-22 than F-35, just it will be much cheaper, I’d say it would cost around 50mn to buy, they wanted a 35mn price tag but thats very unlikely.

Yes it was not a bad idea to go with a second plane but F-1E/F was the wrong choice, Super Tomcat should’ve been the one.
