I don’t think they will get J-10 and another high tech western aircraft, it will be only one of those.
I think Mirage-2000-9 is a rather stupid one, get the best Western aircraft you can get, thats either the Gripen or Rafale, if they can get Rafale, then they should go for it, if they cannot then stick with J-10.
Although age of BVR is really starting to come up, I will bet in the future air wars dogfighting will be common, especially if no AWACS are around.
yahhh similar things as to the South Korean deal, US pressure.
I don’t think USAF needs a big long range bomber, rather than some medium sized bomber, perhaps something the size of Tu-22M.
why didn’t they just pick the kamov? cuz it’s Russian?
mixtex, the F-5E is a joke, it’s an old airframe, old avionics, old radar and everything, it’s just old. This would be like putting the Mig-21 back into production. Do you see what you’re saying.
You need something newer and better like FC-1 over F-5E/Mig-21.
I certainly don’t see why FC-1 is a big question mark, I think we’re all 100% sure it will be bought by Pakistan, not sure about China but possibly.
I don’t think you can fit a radar like that in a Mig-29’s nose, if you could, Mig-29 would be a kick ass multirole fighter, almost unmatched.
F-50 Golden Eagle will never be a good export success in the light fighter market, why? American engine, avionics, weapons=you need American approval.
The only low cost fighter out there that seems to have a chance is FC-1, nothing else.
If Russians can pull something out of their hat like a Gripen with twice the smaller cost then they have a chance otherwise FC-1 all the day for the 3rd World.
Since they are getting rid of their M2K’s and selling the mto India, I really wonder what they will replace them with.
wow, and how wide of a nose would you need to fit the N011M?
I think Mig-21 is far by the stupidest plane the Soviets have produced in my opinion, and that can largely be blamed on the requirements. A mach 2 short ranged interceptor, just doesn’t go along together. Not only it could barely reach m2 and stay at it but it would run out of fuel, and short ranged interceptors-air superiority fighters really aren’t a good thing. The early Mig-21s, had poor weapons, weapon systems, sensors and other crap. It’s A2G capability was really a nil. The only good thing Mig-21 ever was a dogfighter but it’s crappy electronics made it suck. Mig-21bis was a large improvement.
Although I am a much bigger fan of earlier Migs and Mig-23 and later Migs, just never liked the Mig-21.
I don’t think this thing has any hope for export, much like all the other Japanese military equipment. Not only it’s not there quality wise but it’s also really expensive, kind of like the F-2.
how does a Mig-25 or even a SR-71 manouver at those kind of really high speeds?
Why would the Greeks want the F-15 when it’s inferior to the Typhoon/Rafale in pretty much every way except range and payload which are not that important for Greece.
I read in a book that a Mig-25 was tracked going mach 3.2 over Sinai, later on it was discovered that it wrecked it’s engines
yahh I got A-12 messed up with YF-12, my bad.
