What’s the issue? Pan Am (incarnation #3) still operates, mainly with 727s – their base is up in the north east somewhere but most of their operations are charter and into Orlando/Sanford. FWIW, there was also a Pan Am 727 at Los Angeles last week, which I photographed taking off.

I have a Canon 20D and always shoot RAW… I take all my images in RAW format so they are converted in PShop to JPEGS which gives an image size of 6144x4096px @402pixels per inch apprx 6-7mb
Firstly,
A 20D is an 8mp camera. 6144×4096 is 25mp. Something seriously wrong with your conversion – its upsizing the image which will significantly degrade it. A Canon 20D should produce images that are approx 3500×2333 pixels (can’t remember the exact numbers), which is what mine does. So firstly, find out why your conversion is interpolating up the size of the image and stop it doing that.
Secondly, if ALL you are interested in is airliners.net (or any webspace) then pixels per inch is irrelevent. Pictures are displayed on screens according to the resolution of the screen (in pixels across) and the number of pixels in the image. What I mean by this is that if a screen is set to 1024×768 (in Windows or whatever) then a 1024 pixel image will fill the screen, if a screen is set to 1600×1200 pixels, that same 1024 pixel image will occupy around 60% of the width of the screen – i.e. the image resolution is irrelevent for screen display.
Beyond that, you already have some good workflow suggestions.

I would be VERY surprised if this is going to be operated by a UPS 763 – as far as I know, they do not have intra-Europe traffic rights except for connecting traffic. IF it is a 767 operation, I suspect it more likely it’ll be on a Star Air 767-200 as are quite a number of UPS intra-Europe flights.

Ah well, I suppose it goes to prove that AlphaNone at least got one thing right – not to start that route! 😉

That’s the jet Brasilia concept – the early design studies involving stretching and re-engining the EMB-120 with jets, forerunner to what became the EMB-145

However, in my opinion, the whole boarding process seemed nothing more than a rugby style scrum with people pushing, shoving and screaming at each other in order to secure a seat with the people they were travelling with!!!
Ah, the great rush of the Chavs for the door! 😮
Another way in which some low-fare carriers make flying less civilised, and one reason why I stick to airlines with assigned seating.

Lan Chile have taken a few – best I recall, they now have four of O’Leary’s old clunkers.

After the past debate about pilot’s licences, why am I now wondering about driving licences? 🙂

PS: The website initially looks glossy but nothing works (no surprise there then) – would anyone seriously put any money into this after the AlphaNone debacle?
******, is everyone shooting trails all of a sudden, or was it just the weather this weekend made a great opportunity to do so?
nice shots there what lens were you using
Canon 100-400L-IS.
Nice trails, howabout the main feature ?
Main feature was the VDA AN-124 actually taking off from the airport – too boring to post pics of these days! :p

It is not a change of airframe, but the addition of an airframe. So perhaps PH-MCV will continue the MAN-ANU/-BGI/-LAS route, with PH-AHQ going on the LHR-JED/-RUH route.
Can’t see any reason why bmi needs two 767s, certainly not long term.
bmi leased a 767 to cover MAN flights during A330 heavy checks in MNL, and then to operate the Saudi routes. Once the checks are complete, all currently announced routes can be covered by 3 x A330 (one on daily LHR-BOM, one 7-weekly MAN-ANU/-BGI/-LAS, one on daily MAN-ORD), 1 x 767 (on 7-weekly LHR-RUH/-JED) and one A330-300 (A7-AEA, on LHR-DOH).
The LHR-RUH/-JED routes require a different config to that in which PH-MCV currently operates – maybe there’s just an overlap to support a config change?

Minor into-service problems with the JetBlue E-190s (not unexpected on a new type) have resulted in a delay to deliveries of the Flybe E-195. I believe first delivery is now to take place in October, to be based at BHX (then one at SOU and EXT).

Can anyone explain BMI’s decision to drop the A321 from the fleet ? I thought it was perfectly suited to it’s UK shuttle services ?
The way things are going at bmi, they’ll soon only need A318s (or even just go the whole hog and just substitute junglejets onto the routes!) 🙁
Andy
The 767 currently leased to bmi has a business/premium economy/economy config, which is what was needed for MAN-ANU/-BGI/-LAS. From late April, bmi are to use a (the!) 767 on LHR-JED/-RUH and its already been said that this will be in a business/economy (i.e. no PE) config. So the change in config doesn’t surprise at all, and maybe the change in airframe just facilitates the transition.
