I would say the IAF and RuAF are the only forces which are taking care of their Mig 29s. And the Slovaks have got their upgraded Migs as well.

If you look at American customers they are mostly rich and capable nations, and Russian customers usually cannot afford to invest much on further development, maintenance, training etc.

Valid point there, most Russian a/c the Americans have faced so far were badly maintained and pilots poorly trained. It may be quite different when they face better trained and better equipped Russian types.

And I think they sense this. Hence the need for allies operating Russian types participating in Red Flag 😉

Neither IRAQ nor Afghanistan is a Strategic Mistake. Americans may not accept it now but further down the years when they get the fair chunk of Iraqi oil reserves they will praise Bush.

Afghanistan is being fought to tie die down the Taliban and Al Queda so that no 9/11 repeat will occur. There has also been vital intelligence gathered fro Afghanistan which has helped in foiling terrorist plots elsewhere.

LCA MK2 will be ready by 2015-16 but the MRCA is a different procurement program.

The bull**** about India being not able to perfect the Mig 21. The current LCA is much capable than the Mig 21 and its chinese clones. But the IAF wants the LCA to be more capable than that hence the MK2.

If we wanted to make copies of Russian aircraft, trust me could have done it like the Chinese are doing. But since we respect Intellectual Property and Design rights we did not.

    J 11 😮

“mashup” Wonder what the AESA says on the inside, “Raytheon” or “Northrop Grumman”.

Possibly a Chinese copy of the Elta 2052

I think that the next 4 years is going to see Israeli citizens pretty much in control of the white house. remember they made obama and that Obama, being a Democrat and having public support will face no opposition. So don’t be surprised if tomorrow Obama concludes that he has tried talking to Iran and now its time for the bitter pill treatment..
A strike on Iran is something oil companies probably DON’T want because a large amount of facilities they own would be under fire. Everyone who mattered knew Saddam was too weak to do anything but everyone now knows what will happen to oil facilities and supply lines.. so they may not make great partners and thats probably why they were dumped by AIPAC in favor of Obama.. or so I speculate:D

The worst Obama will do is letting Israel have a free reign. He will not be going to war with iran under the current circumstances after being so against the Iraq misadventure.
