Regarding Keeping the weapons a secret. I think it has an added deterrent value. For example the West made a lot out of the Mig 25 than what it was actually capable off. And an LCA under wraps till FOC would have been much better for India.
I have asked this quesiton before, without getting an answer, So i am going to ask it again. All the shown designs show a similar approach to the F 22. What happend to the much hyped about Active Plasma stealth that was being discussed a lot ?
The U.S presense and lack of unity among Arabs and Persians helps them a lot though. 🙂 Still going to be an uphill task in the long-term with the growing population divide.
Talking about Israel the LCA MK2 will probably be equiped with the ELTA 2052 AESA 😀
Russian territory ? They are solving border issues with Russia at the moment. By the way Russia is also emerging from its post cold war shadow. Hmm we all know what happend to the last state, which went looking for Russian territory 😀
China is closer to attaining the Super-Power status than India is. And China and a resurgant Russia offers the United States more problems than India.
A powerful India allied to the U.S can counter China, and an alliance with the Americans will be a strong detrrent for India against China’s terriotorial ambitions in its North East.
I am sorry for being sensitive when it comes to national issues, will correct the mentioned statements.
Because your language is getting more and more uncivilised, I would rather leave it here.
I am sorry if I have offended you. Could you kindly point out where have i been rude and uncivilized ?
In 1948 Pakistan invaded the Himalayan Kingdom of Kashmir which was not a part of India. And India was able to push Pakistan back from most of it, Pakistan still retain some.
In 1965 we won Pak territories and gave it back as part of goodwill. Provide me with one western or neutral source which claims otherwise. Operation Gibraltar lol.
In 1971 the Bangladeshis were being tortured and we stepped in to help them. Pakistan did not lose against Mukti Bhagni but against Indian Armed Forces.
As for the comments on the Itch. I think the more Pakistan Itch us the more a threat to Pakistan’s existence we will become.
To be fair India is content with the status quo with regards to territories and all. Pakistan is the one Pushing for Kashmir and cannot control the flow of insurgents.
OK so Taliban exist in Afghasnistan as well. Good to know.
Sarcasm
Outcome was not changed because of the lack of a central command (poor coordination between arab countries) and pathetic quality of Arab forces.
What makes you think Pakistan are any better ? After all they lost 3 wars and a quarter of their territory (Bangladesh).
Indian wont pull any troops because China will never fight with India for Pakistan.
Possibly not but Its not something India can risk and not something India will risk. In 1971 Gen. Sam Manek Shah waited till the Himalayan passes between India and China were closed with snow and only then committed the Army against Pakistan. India is very cautious about China.
Dont scratch too much though, it will only injur your own body.
Scratching will stop when the Itching stops. We know the medicine but it may have side effects, so will scratch for now. :diablo:
Messy Teenager ? A proud country defending itself against the onslaught of terrorism more like it. 😎 we can learn a few lessons from them.
How is it a no-win situation. India will lose a city or two and will take time to recover. But Pakistan as a nation will cease to exist. That is if the war turns Nuclear.
I never said there is no Taliban in Afghanistan, on the contrary all I said was there are Afghan forces which fight Taliban who infiltrate from Pakistan. For the Europeans, this has never been their war, they jumped to it to support the Americans only because they were allied to them. But for India Taliban and Islamic militants post an existential threat. There for there is more onus for us to fight these people. We have been suffering from the militant attacks for decades and we have the same determination and will as the Taliban to engage them. So I think it ins in our interest to be involved militarily in Afghanistan in the future. There is a difference when one is fighting for his allies sake and when one is fighting for national security.
No that strategy of supplying arms during conflict has not been a success since world war 2. During the Arab Israeli conflicts the Soviets gave the Arabs tons of equipment and even flew the jets for the, which did not change the outcome.
And its a less demanding strategy for the Chinese to make to deploy troops on the Eastern border of India. This would make Indians change the strategy and pull some troops to send Eastward.
Oh and I do not underestimate the enemy, and that enemy is China in the long term and not Pakistan. We have underestimated China in 1961 and paid the price for it. Pakistan is an itch really which needs some scratching from time to time.
The Afghans are already fighting the Taliban who infiltrate from Pakistan. And I do not share the doom and gloom that Britain and European Nations have about the Afghan War. I like the way the Current and the Coming U.S administrations confidence when it comes to Afghanistan and India already has excellent relations with the Karzai government. It is helping to rebuild the Afghan infrastructure. Not to mention the joint statements against Pakistan that Karzai and Singh made during his last visit here.
Afghanistan’s and India’s interests are intertwined in the long term. We for one do not want the Taliban in power in Afghanistan any more than the Americans or the ruling alliance do. And i think in the next decade or so India will make a solid military commitment in Afghanistan if the situation calls for it.
As for the Chinese issue. Would you send equipment and see it destroyed on the ground most probably ? Or would you rather divert a chunk of Indian forces to the east just by some troop movements. The first strategy (sending equipment) have been tried and failed by the Soviets in the conflicts of the past and I think the Chinese would not risk their Planes or Pilots the same way.
Not Similar in Size and Nor in Quality ( at least equipment wise ). But India cannot afford to concentrate all its troops on the west because of China. While Pakistanis will make an alliance with the Taliban and pullout everyone from the western front.
Yawns. We will be very lucky to see over 100 Tejas’ in active service at this point.
