Put a post on http://www.rafcommands.com/forum/ he’ll reply in person, though he does frequent here sometimes.
It’s not terrible, low but increasing likelihood of precipitation and cloudy throughout with an East to South East wind. At the moment the UK will be between systems with a high over Scandinavia and a not particularly exciting low to the SW of Ireland.
If your punt is right Alan I would guess Lincoln might be worth a visit, but time (and very little of it) will tell. Might have to keep an eye on social media etc and be ready to travel.
I liked the comment about airshow commentators in there. What was it, if the commentator would be quiet for a couple of minutes so the crowd can listen to the Merlins. As for the narration, terrible.
East Fortune, Saturday
Farewell 558; they’ve been a good few years.

I think you are probably looking for one of the FAA Martinets which crashed off Corriecravie, they were however fatal accidents.
That would explain why they seem to turn up at crash sites where the aircraft was Bristol powered and don’t seem particularly rare, you learn something new everyday.
I am not sure of the exact purpose but that part is from one of the engines, I have seen numerous single cog versions of the same part on Wellingtons and Blenheims.
But without a take off time how do I know when the clock starts ticking? And I see from the map they are now saying it is +55 minutes rather than +75. Obviously with actual times (even +/- 20 minutes) I would be in the car about 90-120 minutes in advance.
Do they not realise that some people will be travelling? I am, according to the AA, 72 minutes drive from East Fortune which will be reached 75 minutes after take off. Need I say any more?
The article only repeats what was previously spouted by the media, and to save people searching for it here’s the direct link http://www.dailypost.co.uk/news/north-wales-news/harlech-site-wrecked-air-force-10217004
It has been put about in the press that the northern route will be planned for the 10th, but obviously that is with the subject to change caveat. I kind of hope it is the 10th as I have to go to Edinburgh that day anyway and will take up a position overlooking East Fortune. I’d really like to be on the North Wales coast for that but don’t stand a chance of getting back south in time if that is on the Sunday.
Other than it looks like perspex I can’t tell much about it, any chance of more photos from different angles please?
I also know one of the Guinea Pig club, I saw him at a family wedding last month, I can report he is also still with us, it was good to see him as I’d not seen him for a bit.
And the Tiffie on reheat drowned him out, that and a trip out on the generator shut him up for a while, though I have to say the suggestion of throwing everything into the air including bras and babies was quite amusing but even that got old once you’d heard it a couple of times.
The north wind meant I didn’t notice my face getting roasted by the sun, but in a very asymmetric way, the sun transits to the south of the beach so only the left hand side of your face gets sun burn there.
I’d not noticed the u/c problem on the dirty pass, too busy with a camera, but looking at my photos now it’s obvious that there was a problem. We assumed the problem was ground related from the announcement that was made but had noticed the Spit in formation with 558.
I have considered it being something personal rather than a unit, no idea what it says below, the photo is from a newspaper obituary so no chance of a better copy.
