    Jezza,

Sorry for the brevity but if you search in the archive for a thread called ‘Horizon vs. F100’ you’ll dredge up quite a bit of the information you are looking for. Failing that one of the fine gentlemen lurking hereabouts might link it up for you.

    Cheers

Thankyou i did eventually find it!
    I did enjoy the topic

Well, your logic excapes me? As the F-35B has many limitations vs the Carrier Based F-35C. With range and payload being the most obvious………..also, without Catapults and Arresting Gear. AEW Types like the HAWKEYE can’t operate from the CVF’s! Which, are clearly more capable than any STOVL Type could ever hope to be!!!! The true is the F-35 is cheaper and hence the CVF will be cheaper……….and unfortunately less capable!:( πŸ™ πŸ™

They will have to continue with Seaking AEW variant.
I agree totally though i would rather a normal carrier with Carrier Based F-35C

Japan and USA should market C-X through Boeing.
Especially if it can get off the ground before the A400.
Japan makes parts for Boeings already

    Its smoke and mirrors.

To get it to flying prototype stage would be 2015-2020ish.The F-15s wont last that long?
They have to buy F-35 if they want to be a regional superpower.
The f-15s are rapidly being left behind unless major upgrades are performed

The Mikoyan-Gurevich MiG-105 “Spiral” was a Soviet project to create an orbital spaceplane. It was originally conceived in response to the American X-20 Dyna-Soar military space project and may have been influenced by contemporary manned lifting body research being conducted by NASA’s Flight Research Center in California. It was nicknamed “Lapot” Russian: Π»Π°ΠΏΠΎΡ‚ΡŒ, or bast shoe (the word is also used as a slang for “shoe”) for the shape of its nose.
