    AC70?, 18??-19?? (sleepy), Airbus A32S? (sleepy)
    Sunday 10 October
    LGA-YYZ

Practically walking dead arriving at LGA. Checked in by machine, went through security, yada yada. Bought coffee (caffeine!), still nearly fell asleep. Walked aboard in a daze, sat in my seat and blissfully snoozed to
Toronto. Presented my brand-spanking new PR card to the officer, and in I went to beautiful Canada……

Partly because of security, and also, you should check on BA. And check later, you are checking very early.

Belgian citizens don’t even need their passport stamped, also if you are planning to cross the border to Egypt or Jordan, make sure your passport isn’t stamped if you want to go anywhere in the Arab World after that.

Four days in Belgium passed too quickly- wouldn’t be able to meet with JeanskeSN- my friends were dragging me all over the place. Made my pilgrimage to the Italian, and suddenly, I found myself muddled by a train ride across the channel and sitting in LHR….

    BA179 1830-21??, another Boeing-777-200
    Thursday 8 October
    LHR-JFK

Kissing couple on one end, the idiot Israelis on the other, me in between. Such was the check-in line at LHR at 1605. Some *#$@^%(@ ran right through the line with his laptop hanging haphazardly on the cart, while I just stood there with my suitcase, longing to check in. In the end it was so vexing I decided that my single bag was small enough for carryon (it was) and off I went to check-in in 5 minutes by machine.

Security was quick. The people in front of me were speaking a certain Dutch dialect (aka Flemish 😀 ) and another person speaking adapted Flemish (Afrikaans). I set off the metal detector with my old apartment key (what was it doing there?) and got searched again! Paranoia, Paranoia.

Spotting was glorious, but even better was the shopping. Stocked up on Cadbury Flakes and Milk & Nut bars. British candy addict:D.

Boarding at Gate 24 or 25 was another mess- group of naughty Americans, the Flemish speakers, the couple, and the idiot Israelis were all there, waiting to board our flight to Idiocy, aka the USA. Boarding finally happened, and as usual, I found my seat easily and relaxed into the BA service.

Flight Purser Trevor? ran a tight ship. All the FAs were courteous, the food was great, and the television programmes were excellent. Airshow and CNN helped me pass the time so quickly, suddenly, we were landing into the dark, dark JFK.

Didn’t have to get fingerprinted, was already, but immigration was longer than a traffic jam on the M1. After the bags came, customs through and hugs done, I was off for three days with my family in NYC.

BA is very nice, a bit like economy but with hot meals and metal tableware.
