I picked up a “catalogue” return for (read it and weep) £34 (X52 Pro) RRP is about £115. The supplied PS2 cable seems to be a weak link, as others have mentioned it.

When my stick isn’t working, there’s a single green led glowing, but only the throttle works. If you have an old KVM switch lying around, you might have a spare PS2 cable – try that, but pushing the supplied cable in is usually enough for me.

That’s a good idea, I’ve got a laptop I can use for precisely the same job. Windows, though, not Mac.

    I’m an A-10C & Ka-50 novice.

If you like military sims as well, you might find a lot of satisfaction with DCS: A-10C & DCS: Ka-50. Particularly if you’re an advanced pilot.

Personally, I can barely keep them in the air long enough to complete a mission, but that’s because I’m a newbie dork who needs a tutor.

There’s a great job out there for anyone who wants to fly as lead or wingman, teaching newbies – for altruism or monetary compensation/barter. I know I need a tutor and I’ve got an awful lot of free time.

Read and weep, picked up a Saitek X52 Pro, brand new, on eBay for £34 delivered! Normally about £120. It works perfectly, but I think I’ll change the PS2 lead connecting the stick and throttle. So many buttons and profiles to choose from I barely know which way to look.

I’m going, I have a free ticket for a “carer”, in exchange for help with fuel. So if you haven’t got a ticket yet let me know via PM. I live in Plymouth. I can pick up from anywhere en-route from there, or maybe someone in east Cornwall.

Unfortunately Giganick1 can’t go after all, so still looking for a companion, someone to help share costs. I live in Plymouth, so anyone on the A38/M5 corridor.

I’m still looking for a companion to accompany me to RIAT along the A38/M5 corrridor. £45 cash – cheaper than buying a ticket on the day, to cover fuel costs. Please see the link in the message above. I have one seat available in my car.

Yes, it would. But I could set you up on the insurance, if you like, but my car is fitted with hand controls, which you could ignore.

It is a Fiat Qubo Diesel with auto & semi-auto gear shifting. It will have my mobility scooter in the loading bay, so no rear seats. 75mpg is possible on long runs such as this.

Any takers? I’m still looking for someone.

I’ve been calling, on this forum, for the Dominie to flown at air displays, recognising it’s VFM and longevity in the RAF.

It’s the only aircraft in the RAF that I actually got to do any work on, while at Finningley in 1973/4, while waiting for my TT course to begin.

But is it just the Dominie, or the entire HS125 based line that’s being phased out?

An RAF Nav who’s first OP is on secondment to the FAA? That must have been a bit of a surprise for him.

Really great piccies. The equal of any great “coffee table” book and should be printed, signed (artist and pilots) and framed.

May I raise a call for one or two Harriers to go to the BBMF. These planes have been used in combat, but they also hold many other characteristics that others don’t, and also have a special place within aero engineering. They’re so much more than just an aeroplane.

I might be wrong, but it’s unlikely it’s replacement (not due for 9 or 10 years) will attain the level of support the Harrier has.

Are they going to be classed as too complex for civilian ownership and operation in the UK? They’d be expensive to keep, but the jewel in any collection.

Cracking shots Anna – you’ve caught that C130 model really well too…. looks far too real 😀
Good to meet you there as well… 😉

    Pete

The model, which I saw in the model paddock, is huge – no wonder it looks so lifelike when flying.

I happened to overhear a conversation between a display pilot at Yeovilton (or Culdrose) and someone closer to the Sea Vixen’s operations, that he was available to fly her as he has experience of the type and would only need to renew his approval rating.

So there are SV pilots around with the necessary skills, it’s a matter of finding them.

Just a couple more. I didn’t use my camera much on this day and left a little prematurely, so only saw the Hunter/Strikemaster team from the disabled car park.

No problem Longshot. I use a reconditioned Fuji 6500fd myself, and have owned an S5600 previously – which was damaged, unfortunately. I simply can’t afford anything better.
