What about ……. the Sub preservationists?
Wow – great idea – what an excellent target.
Such a show, even with what’s available today, would extract £100 off me (or more if there was a short break involved).
Is it really pure fantasy, or could such a show be done? Would it be worthwhile?
How about tying it up with a regular ferry passage – say along the route from Plymouth to Santander? Perhaps a deal could be stuck with the ferry operators if it was planned well enough in advance. That trip takes 24hours each way btw, and there’s a return trip usually about 4-6 hours after arrival.
GPRS & a small ATC post on the bridge, or on an upper deck, would help locate the vessel for pilots, which is probably only doing about 20k, or less.
Sorry about the static display & mock battles though 🙁 Maybe the lashings of booze, great company, and no same day driving (hurrah) could make up for it.
Are there any restrictions with regards to flying alongside commercial vessels that would need to be waived/approved?
I’d love to go to this, but can’t afford it on my own – if there’s anyone in the Cornwall/Devon/Somerset area who would like to go, and is willing to pay a share of the petrol money, and possibly the driving – I have a Honda CRX, which is fun. 😀

With most modern GPRS phones, you can connect your laptop or PC and surf the web – but it’s not going to be cheap – because they charge by the megabyte.
Unless I’m out of date (possible), even if you have an “always on” type GPRS 56kbps connection, the cost of running it is prohibitive for anything but serious professional advantage.
Incontinence Pants & Mae Wests would be a prerequisite. 😀
My phone has a camera on it – so I just snap and then use that as wallpaper.
Not much point to it really though – just wastes battery life if the screen is on all the time! 🙁
The camera might come in useful to record an accident – and there’s memory enough for quite a few pictures.
I tried WAP a year or so ago – next to pointless and very expensive for what it is (on O2 anyway). I’m not into sports news bulletins, and finding my local restaurant, or what’s on at the cinema can be gleaned from the local rag.
SMS (that bloody … — … is annoying heard around the office, isn’t it) text messageing just hurts my hand, so don’t bother with it.
And now they want to add video messaging and video phone capabilities. Well the Video Phone fell flat on it’s backside in the ’70’s and again in the ’80s. They don’t even use it as a communication method in Star Trek (except for major conferences, and then it’s on the “Viewscreen”.
That is one very interesting website John, and I don’t just mean in the Historic Aviation sense either.
Want a passenger?
😀 😉
More balloons – or, as I call it –
“Drama as Vampire engine fails to start”
must have been them starting up to depart in the evening
10/10 😀
Gotch!
Gotcha!

More later. Hi to everyone I met there!
Fences in themselves do not necessarily demark the edge of a property – however, if there is no public thoroughfare there should be signs to that effect.
Yes – it was a great day – and Miss Demeanor was just as good from within the show. Fotos later.
Hummm I live in Plymouth and have family in Cornwall – can you pm me with more details, so I can take a shuftie one day, see how she’s getting on? Thanks.
PS – just found this photo online of Castle Air/Motors example: –

You don’t have to attach them in order for them to show up, you can simply use the img button and insert the webspace address:
ie (remove spaces)

will do this:

This is cheaper for the forum host, and just as effective.
Note that some webspace hosts don’t allow you to do this, but yours does.
