I know they had a trick up their sleeves with regards to the torpedoes. The torpedos tail end was jacked up and down for landing, flying and takeoff to maintain clearance.
There is an old Firebrand thread I trawled through, and I was looking at Air Enthusiast May/June 2007 – No. 129.
Cool – well done.
Think I may as well give up on getting to see her at all, ever.
Bournemouth was the last possible date when she would be in travelling distance for me to see her.
So, no sighting in the SouthWest at all this year. This is very discouraging. I simply have not had a reasonable chance to see her at all.
I like the two with me in them!!!
Seems not – nothing going on at Devonport today – just business as usual.
Ho hummm
And a few more.
Images are low quality, so won’t stand being enlarged. I do have higher resolution alternatives availalbe if anybody wants one.
Finally, as promised:
Photos are in 800×450 pixel resolution.
Wow – fame at last – I’m seated just under the railway station there, in your chopper shot.
Is there a car park up there? I might try it next year.
Lovely pictures of one of my favourites there.
I take it the starboard wing did fold up correctly eventually?
Almost all digital photographs have to be “retouched” in some way – even if it is just to resize and/or crop the image. So you shouldn’t be so surprised about that.
Looks good to me.
And it is still raining down here!
Nevermind, I suppose the Caravaners will love it still.
Hi Rob,

No wonder. I thought I was going bonkers, I knew it wasn’t a Spitfire, but it had so many similar characteristics.
Just orderd my lens and convertor which will give me a full mag of 600mm. What do most of unes use and how close can I expect to get with a 600mm from a passing plane at full height?
Depends on what you mean by “full height”.
Thanks for that.
My timing was only approximate – you probably arrived just as I was leaving. Sorry I missed you.
What is that flying with the Gliders & their tug?
