[QUOTE=WP840;1261838]
My first visit to brunty, I certanly picked a great day for my first trip), Really enjoyed it Even though my feet and clothes are still soaked as well as my camera and it was the first time I had seen 558 since 93
There not as grainy as they look its the rain (honest)
also my autofocus started playing up towards the end so I had to film the Victor and Lightning runs and I will post them later.
Hope you like.
I never realised how narrow the fusalage of the JP was until I saw this picture, there barely seems enough room to have the pilots sat side by side!
😮
I think the aspect ratio has been corrupted. It is shown as 800×600 – but I think it should be something like 800×556 (which would be an aspect ratio locked scale down from a larger widescreen image – such as 1920×768). It certainly looks more realistic at 800×556 to me.
The following image, taken at Kemble in 2004, would support this

Heeeeey, did you borrow my camera’s xD card and copy some? Some of those look familiar.
Only joking, you posted well before I did. 😀
(Oh, and no, I didn’t borrow yours, either. Before anyone else asks.)
Nice pics. It was a good day.
This site automatically converts images to thumbnails – it helps reduce their bandwidth charges, as the full sized image is then available only on request (simply click on a thumbnail to see the full sized image).
Those of us that use external storage sites can post full size (or thumbnails if you’re clever), and then the bandwidth charges are billed to the image host. The two sites work together in that sense.
Love the shot of the two Hunters + two Tornados in formation, well composed.
I think they composed it, I just pointed and pushed the button at a lucky moment.
I’ve found a better chair and I think that has also helped steady some of my shots, as I can rest and get up fairly quickly now. Those canvas chairs are all too low, and I used to expend a lot of energy trying to stand up. (I have some muscle loss, mostly down my left side, possibly due to diabetes).
And the Sea Vixen is due back in the air later this season. Could turn out to be a monster year, this year.
Blimey Nick, where were you? Those Tornados are pretty much at eye level, judging by their angle.
:(:(:(
I don’t know why I bother taking photos anymore 🙁
I couldn’t do better than those with the most expensive kit in existence.
Well, it was the loudest, and did set off car alarms all over the airfield, but it’s still a purring pussycat compared to a Lightning, Phantom or the mighty Vulcan.
Babies near me were gurgling with delight, rather than crying in pain. 😀
Martin, as always your photos take the edge of mine, and I thought they were good until I saw those.
Anyway – greatful thanks to the SWO for a perfect day – Kemble always seems to pluck that little bit of extra magic out of the bag.
In and out in double quick time – long, long flying programme – immediately followed by departures aplenty – sunshine in ample attendance (more applause for the SWO) – smiles and grins galore.
___
SWO? (Station Warrant Officer – otherise known as a diety of popular repute).
From where I was – in the middle of the crowd line – it looked very very dangerous indeed. He wasn’t that far away from parked aircraft, as you can see from the photo above, and his wings must have been within scant inches of the ground.
Fantastic. Will she be flying on the Enthusiasts day (the day before the official airshow) at Yeovilton?
My plan is to go only to the enthusiasts day unless Xh558 is confirmed for official show day. But that can be adjusted if necessary.
What about the mid-week Culdrose show?
Hopefully we’ll get the Vixen down.
Do you mean the ex-Red Bull Sea Vixen? If so, does she have a new sponsor now?
I was amused to learn that the RAF’s King Air won this years RAF training display award!!!
Wasn’t looking through my camera when I saw it, I’d already put it down thinking the flight was over.
You’ll have to take it from witnesses actually there. There must have been just mere inches between the tip of his wings (especially his starboard wing) and the ground.
It shouldn’t affect me, as I don’t habitually sell any of my photos or videos. But there are professional photographers on this forum, and I would like their take on this.
Yes, I know.
Yep, that’s the one Rob68.
I trust you can see my photos now. They’re hosted on my Virgin webspace, so there shouldn’t be a problem.
