The best piece of equipment in any inventory, is the one that’s used extremely regularly, is entirely transparent and therefore forgotten. Yet provides the most essential service.
But it isn’t half missed if it suddenly goes awol or breaks.
Now where did I hide my broadband router???
My guess is that it has become so much a part of the furniture, they forgot about it when they did the website.
Nice pics, and good use of self-hosted thumbnails! 😀
Why cant i see anything…..?
There could be 100 reasons for this.
What sort of Internet connection do you have? Broadband or dial up. Dialup means they might be slow uploading.
Maybe Photobucket (the image hosts) were off-line while you looked?
Maybe you have images turned off in your browser.
etc…. ad nauseum.
😀 Here’s a lovely one [click]
And there is a wide range for sale here.[click] I am lead to believe they have excellent flight characteristics – not quite as good as a true tomahawk, but handy to have around none-the-less.
:dev2:
Robant
chopper litterally choped up ???????????????????
😀 The power of a 10x zoom. It was actually in the next field, I was in a layby nearby. Doing some Chinese!
Now that IS stealth technology at its finest! I don’t even SEE a B2.
Oops finger trouble, I meant the B1 Lancer, of course, especially the shots on his website.
I’m sure it has been mentioned previously, but weren’t some WWII, near end of life, bombers packed full of explosives and remotely guided to their targets, with varying success, by the RAF and the US airforce?
Surely they would qualify as guided weapons?
As they were used as weapons, surely they were “operational” too, even though they were experimental.
Look at a male hen, the proper 4 letter word to describe said bird has been used to refer to something else which in society is deemed offensive
Makes me wonder what they use on all those chicken fancier forums instead…..
Mmmm – are chickens “historic aviation”? I’m not even sure they can fly…..
Very nice indeed.
Especially liked the B2 shots, Fairford seems to be the only place it appears in the UK.
It is Boeing Chinook HC2A ZH892/HG (cn M-4455)
It is believed that HG is the new designation for this aircraft, as it has been photographed with the designation BL previously. Unfortunately my photographs do not show the registration number. 18 Squadron, RAF Odiham. Seen here dropping of troops during an exercise in east Cornwall.
Thanks to the guys in the Military aviation forum for the details.
Love the way that both of the Red Arrows opposing pair are in focus. We usually only see one in photos of this nature.
:diablo: 😀
Fuji Finepix cameras are excellent at picking up closeup chopper (and I mean that literally – as in device for chopping things up) action.
I’ll bet she didn’t have to duck as low as this – see how the blades are actually below the level of my head/camera. Maybe this belongs in the low flying thread.

I can’t speak for Steven Fry, or the new film’s director, but if I were either I’d neatly sidestep the issue by not mentioned either Gibby’s dog or the code word at all (or smoking, come to that).
I’m sure there are a lot more important facts. tales and tears to be shed in this story.
Steven will, no doubt, get a great deal of laughs by highlighting the somewhat public school style “debagging” imposed on other squadron’s aircrew by the “resting” 617 crews.
Telex machine
Ahh that must be a Teleprinter then. You sure it was Telex and not TASS?
Those are great, but if I may be so bold as to suggest you try and keep them to less than 800 pixels wide on the forum. You can always provide a link to a larger version, if you wish. Simply embed the IMG tag within an URL tag to the larger version:-
Like this: –
[UR L=”http://www.robantnets.co.uk/coppermine/albums/2007/Yeovilton%206%20Jul%…“][IM G]http://www.robantnets.co.uk/coppermine/albums/2007/Yeovilton%206%20Jul%…[/IM G][/UR L]
You can do it by clicking on the IMG icon, then highlight the code the IMG icon provides, then click on the world with a link and supply the url for the full sized version. It is a self hosting way of creating thumbnails.
Click on the image below to see how it turns it into a larger version if you click on it (hope this works – not looking for an eggy face), both images are hosted on my webspace:-
