Under what circumstances would you put a loaded, chambered, safety off gun into stowage? Or did this occurence happen while he was checking it prior to stowage?
Weren’t law enforcement informed? What was their view upon investigation?
I doubt the British police would have been so lenient.
I think you’ve misunderstood. The programme “Flash Forward” (as I was so rightly corrected) is about people blacking out (and having a sneak peak at their lives 6 months in the future). Not a loss of power.
But you do cover a lot of my questions with great and relevant detail. Thanks.
Yep, that’s because when you digitally zoom you are effectively reducing the size of the photo sensor array. Less pixels are used to obtain the original image.
So cropping and digital zooming aren’t the same thing and shouldn’t be compared in the manner you’ve done here.
Manson and his “Mesmerising powers of persuasion”. That kept her off the chair that boils skin. But to kill a pregant woman! Sorry, but this cow should have been fried.
And, why haven’t they killed Manson?
Firstly: Sentencing someone to and carrying out the death penalty gives the murderer an easy out. Guilt doesn’t traverse into an afterlife. If you believe in an afterlife, then Hell will be upon you soon enough. If you don’t believe in an afterlife then the only sufferers are those that are alive. Better to keep someone alive in a “hell” on earth, and be sure.
Secondly: No matter how strong the evidence, there will always be miscarriages of justice. Putting someone to death doesn’t give you the opportunity to say sorry and compensate someone for such a mistake if they are already dead.
I don’t believe in superstition and it’s mystical dieties, but that doesn’t make me a bad person (on it’s own), so I don’t believe in the death penalty as being the ultimate penalty. The ultimate sanction should be a rest of life imprisonment, with the requirement to do whatever work is within your ability and is presented before you, giving you a means to earn your keep while imprisoned. I understand this raises other questions – such as how such work is supervised and what sanction can be imposed for not earning your keep. That’s for brainier folk than I.

Getting out of bed!
Getting out of bed!
I am still looking at this, but events are overtaking me a little. I may not be able to start saving for it until January or February.
My motability car is up for renewal, and I want one that can take a class 3 mobility scooter, so I’m going to need money for the deposit on that. I’ll get other benefits from it too, such as cruise control etc. It’s a Nissan Note Acenta 1.6 Auto.
I also need a shower installed.
I’m getting some help with this lot financially, but I may need to buy a few accessories, such as car ramps and an off-board charger for the scooter.
You probably have to zoom out to remove the majority of the vignetting (the black border). You may still see some darkening of the corners. which you can correct by editing the image on your computer – or maybe on the camera.
If you don’t need it, remove it and only use it when you do.
It may not be designed to work with that particular lens.
Due to poor weather yesterday, the Spitfire and King Air didn’t attend. The american F15’s turned out to be a singleton that made a fast approach and turned for a second pass, then disappeared.
The Reds did appear and managed a high display – a gap in the ever present clouds right over the sound appearing at precisely the right moment.
I watched the display from behind Stonehouse Barracks, but I didn’t get anything useful or unusual on my camera.
Navy Day’s short one hour display takes place at 13:30, this afternoon, so I’ll be going over on the ferry to get a better view in an hour or so. It’ll be repeated at the same time tomorrow, too.
As of 7.30 am today, Sunday, my website appears to me to be offline. Have informed the service, and images should be being served again later today.
Sorry for any inconvenience.
I believe that it is Vicky Cruse. News report on The Telegraph Online. I thought it couldn’t be MP, as she is only 25.
RIP Vicky.
MP?
Whoever it is, my condolences to her friends, family and team.
Angels fly the highest of all.
Wish I could have gotten up that hill, it’s very steep, but you did get a much more advantageous position – looking down on the beach.
The Hunter didn’t come close enough to the Inn itself for me to get anything worthwhile, but I doubt if I could have got a better shot than that anyway.
Would love to see more.
I did manage to walk around the choppers though, and was lucky enough to be allowed to rest on the Merlin crews John Deere runabout.
Maybe I’ll be luckier next year, when I’ll have a class 3 mobility scooter, powerful enough to run along the path at the top of the hill/cliff.
Did you see how low that last RA Hawk flew over the Inn? Apart from being inside an aircraft in flight, I’ve never been closer to anything flying.:D

I think most DSLR users would say split your money on lens and body – or something similar. The quality of the lens is as important as the body. I started out with Canon (had some lenses from my film days so tied to that make) and went for a 400D which I used with an old EF 75-300MM F4-5.6 MKIII USM. Which was generally fine. Second hand you should be able to get both from somewhere like parkcameras.co.uk for easily under £400 and be able to rely on their guarantee etc. You could get something in the 28-70mm range as a standard lens for short range shooting such as the Sigma 28-70MM F2.8-4 DG for £70 and still have change to buy a spare battery and some cards for £500 (try 7dayshop.com).
I then got myself a better zoom lens and went for one of Canon’s L lenses – the EF 70-200mm f/4.0L USM as an upgrade with the Canon EF 1.4x II extender) but that cost more than the £400D and 75-300 new! However, the quality of the Canon L glass is great.
I now have upgraded my body to the 50D and with the L lens range glass it takes stunning pics.
As I do landscape and other photography as well I have some other shorter lenses and again have quite a bit of L lens range glass.
I think the 400D (or Nikon’s equivalient) will do you fine for now and for a few years – put a 4 or 8Gb card in it and shoot RAW (not sure if you can do that on your current camera) and you should have plenty of space.
Be warned though – once you step down the DSLR route your wallet can take a pounding!
Yes, my Fuji 6100 does support RAW, and I have some great shots taken in that format.
I’m not to worried about macro to normal range shots, the Fuji is more than adequate for that. I need the extra throw that a 300mm+ lens can achieve, which is where the Fuji trips over itself with it’s f8 minimum aperture.
So I will probably look at a refurbished Sony Alpha with a decent refurbished long throw lens from the outset. That will fix my problems for the next few years (touch wood), and I won’t be looking to spend much more money after that until the Sony &/or lens fail.
