849 Squadron B Flight normally located to RAF Lossiemouth during the 1970’s, when not aboard HMS Ark Royal.
Surely that would depend upon the varying throttle settings for the performance required – ie faster more fuel, slower less fuel? I guess what you’re really looking for is a graph, rather than a set figure?
Compression is fine, but you might like to consider resizing your pictures too – otherwise, when we click on them, they are bigger than our screens (unless auto resizing is turned on).
I would recommend a maximum of 1024 pixels wide – these all seem to be at least 3 times bigger than that – which is fine if you want to give your photos away for nothing to be published, but resizing and compression also gives you a bit of control over whether a potential publisher might ask you for a better copy, but it won’t compromise how well they appear on a computer screen.
Not sure whether any of you have photoshop or a similar program but I am looking for someone to create a benner that is 768 Pixels x 198 Pixels…
Use your imagination and send me them via PM…
The bests ones will be on the site… 🙂
If you have some photos or ideas, I can create a banner for you.
It can be in either static form, or an animated gif.
I did this for a local shop:

and this for my own website

What is the site actually called? Can I have a sneak preview in the site’s current state, in order to try and get some ideas?
If previously exported items were labelled as something other than what they were, I would have some sympathy with the PNG government. But if they were shipped out of the country correctly identified, then I don’t see how they could be described as illegally exported. As about 70% of the country’s exports are high value minerals (oil, copper, gold, etc) they’re used to confirming the value of exported goods/items and protecting themselves against illegal exports – so I don’t see any excuse they could reliably use with foreign law enforcement agencies and courts.
Scouse, I hope you don’t mind, but I’ve taken a few minutes to tidy up your scanned photograph – I’ve gone over it and removed some of the dirt and detritus that gathers with age, and I’ve sharpened it just a little to make it slightly clearer.
Of social note, are the young men in drainpipe trousers, the girl in the mini-skirt suit, the boy in the shorts with socks & sandals and the very flimsy looking pushchair. However, the officer’s uniform hasn’t changed a bit, so far as I can tell!
So it’s a lot more than a great picture of a Lincoln!
where?
Robbie Coltaine?
If I understand him correctly Paulc is suggesting having two copies of the image, one overlaid on top of the other.
Then you can rub out sections of the top image, to reveal the original, below.
Once you’ve finished flattening the image merges all the layers.
You don’t even have to have layers containing the same photo, you can layer all sorts of images, one on top of another to create a montage.
Simply copy what you want into the clipboard, then paste as a new layer. Grab it with the mouse, shift it where you want, change it then when you’re happy with it, flatten it and save it.
I find it enormously helpful when used with digital photographs that you want to view exclusively on computer monitors, and where the camera has a propensity to take pictures in soft focus. Many digital cameras have settings to control some of this in the camera.
Meanwhile, here are a couple of my own “Video Nasty”‘s
Firstly Shuttleworth D-Day 6 June 2004 06:21
Secondly Miss Demeanour 02:51
The numbers are duration.
What concerns me about this project is:
First you have to get it past the CAA before it flies anywhere, (just ask Mike Beachyhead) and,
Which Airshows will be able to afford to book it?
I suggest you read back through all the thousands of thread entries for a reasoned response to this. Both issues have been done to death here and on other forums and we’re all bored with that particular discussion.
Irreverent Edit – Sorry, can’t resist
SteveSS4L and those responsible for the original reason for the original logo, please don’t take offense, I hope you don’t mind me taking a irreverant speculative view of what we might expect next year:
