wooks wike a wellick to me!
Good luck with this Kev,:)
Wish I could have gone too 🙁
Well – If I’m still here (which I expect I will be) – Plymouth, Culdrose, St Mawgan and hopefully Yeovilton and will beg borrow or steal to get to Kemble.
No car at the moment.
Disappointed that BBMF Lancaster isn’t making it to any deep South Western event this year! 🙁
St Mawgan is interesting on 31st August. My understanding is that St. Mawgan is closing this year!!!
It’s a families day – so I guess watching from a vantage point is going to be the best bet?
Loads of classic jets, Hunters Gnats Sea Vixen Venom’s etc etc.
Also would have a display first by Sally B then a 2min silence followed by a display from the BBMF.
Oh and to finish I would have the Red Arrows.
Yea – all that and all the piston jobbies too.
Theme – Aviation 1935 – 1965
In Plymouth Sound, so that we can have seaplanes too.
I’d make sure there were enough portapottys. Nothing is more important to the (perceved) success of an airshow by the punter – You might avoid going all day, but for mum, dad & the kids, it’s vital.
That, and actually being able to get in without having to join a 3+ hour queue (ie NOT Cosford 2004).
We have had people post here checking – for example – whether Mosquitos flew missions from aircraft carriers in WWII because they have a veteran who is saying he did.
I believe this to be true. I know (or rahter knew – it was 3 or 4 years ago) a chap who lived near Redruth who claims to have flown Mosquito’s during the war from aircraft carriers, he also had a number of photographs around his little den that supported this.
Summers always seem to have been sunny and long when we were children – not pouring with rain as my parents point out (although their childhood summers were always sunny as well…).
Funny that – I always hated the weather in Wolverhampton when I was a child. I remember the odd sunny days, but I remember being cold, wet and miserable much more frequently! Seems actually a bit nicer weather wise these days (but I’m still miserable).
That looks like 50′
😀
What? It’s avaition related.
Yes can I have a coffee with no sugar while your at it 🙂
Oh and some malted milk biccy’s please 🙂
Ohh I luv them – specially the choccie ones. So better put more on the plate.
I wonder if they can change the picture on them from a cow to a Hawker Hunter? Would look better and taste good.
The best way is to “upload” your pictures, makes it faster for dial-up users.
You’ll need to ensure your pictures are only about 70kbs, and I would recommend no larger than 800 pixels wide. You can compress and resize your pictures using almost any image editing tool – such as Paintshop Pro, or Photoshop (be sure to save the edited image under a new filename, so as not to damage the original) – and I think there is an image editor with the Windows “Plus!” pack.
Create your post in “Advanced Mode”, so that you have access to all the tools. All you need to do then is use the “Manage Attachments” button – you’ll find it below the “Submit” button, underneath the Post Icons. You can upload 10 images this way.
Alternatively, you can use the Insert Image button (a picture of a hill with a sun in the top right hand corner) to put the image full size into the post. You need to have the image hosted in some webspace somewhere and insert the URL into the pop-up box that appears when you press the button:
The best way to show video clips is to host the clip on some webspace, and use the “Insert Hyperlink” button (World with a chain link below).

And a couple of “uploaded” attachment images (click on them to see them full size).
4 Vulcans – count ’em 16 Olympus engines on take off power “uh uh uh more power”!
I actually lived next to Plymouth’s Royal William Yard while this film was being shot, and I took some photos.
It was an okay film, I naturally went to see it as soon as it came out.
