Does anybody know whether either of the Jindivik target drones that used to be on display at Llanbedr, North Wales (either the one that was on the gate of the now closed airfield or the one that was on show at the now equally closed Maes Atro (sp?) museum) still exist and whether they might be available for sale or loan?
Also, has any news come to light about the future for the other local exhibits, Spitfire FSM, Hunter nose, Anson project or other parts from the museum… I seem to remember bits of Firefly on show.
Does anyone know what happend to the Firefly bits?
How come it wasnt bought 10 years ago then?
The scrapman would not sell it to the public at the time.
I think that he hoped it would go the same way as the shorts canberra cockpit, but this obviously this did not happen.
HMS Vulture
But the good news is the front perspex hasn’t been butchered. It is awol, but this was done by either the RAF or the Cornish Avaition Society as spares for the gate-guard.
I’ve studied the photo below, and it does seem to be plated over.(Dave T)…[/QUOTE]
Hi
Unfortunatley the bomb aimers glass panel &frame was cut out by a disc cutter ,i think by the Cornish aviation society.
The hole left is not covered.
Let me know if there are any other questions about condition ,i have other photos.

Interesting photo. Does the ‘K’ tail code refer to HMAS Sydney and was the aircraft with 805 NAS at the time?
