Hi Mike,
I took the official DARRT video of Kurt & his wife’s visit ,i gave it to Group leader & that was the last i saw of it (i dont think it ever got watched).
Although i think i may have a video (taken by you)of the Me109 model that was presented to Kurt.
regards
Andrew
Andrew,
I will have a look, it puzzled me too. Snooping around hangars is fun. It is a wingsection with wingbolts visible. Also bits of Spitfire were lying around there. There are two Hasting cockpitsections in the pic. The wingsections of either of those are in Canada forming the basis of a new Halifax reconstruction
Cees
Hi Cees,
It is a Fairey Firefly wing centersection (well one end of it).
If you have any further photos of it ,that would be fantastic.

Hi Cees,
Do you have any more photos of the bit in the 2nd photo?
Andrew
Maybe Gannet then. This was my first hunch.
Not Gannet or Balliol,Piston Provost either.
No not Firefly.
It Is from Mk2 (No brake handles).
The First prop has Wright Cyclone reduction (so not Dakota) possibly B17.
The second is not Centaurus, but could be Taurus, pegasus,Mercury or Perseus.
Hi Martyn,
The grip looks high because it is not fitted properly ,didnt have imperial allen keys to hand.
It was just the column that came from Shoreham ,i all ready had the Grip.
Andrew
HMS V
Nice Vixen column! Did you get any history with it at all? The grip looks very high on the column top compared to my Mk2 stick, is it perhaps an early version?
Martyn

Here is a Sea Vixen control column that i picked up from Shoreham yesterday.
Any Fairey Firefly Airframe parts .
Especially Observers canopy frame (fixed).
Please!!!
The trainer is being restored by Dider Chable at Melun-Villaroche airfield just outside Paris.
The Mk1 in New Zealand is owned by Jerry Yagen i believe.
Hi,
Do you have more info ? Never heard about it…
The Trainer is being restored in France.
What happened to the Fairey Barracuda bits that were on display at the museum?
Which cockpit would that be?
I understand the other cockpit he had is the one at East Kirkby.
