Back to the real world again. I spent another couple of hours on the rooftop again observing Amsterdam movements before packing up, getting the duty free fags and perfume to keep wifey happy!

After a couple of hours here I went for a trip to the runway. Following Tenthje’s instructions (visit his very informative website). I caught the bus as instructed and got off when the ‘helpful?’ bus driver told me. I then walked down the solitary long painful road that takes you to the carpark that is adjacent to the runway nearly getting knocked into a dyke (giggle giggle!). Eventually I got there and the views of landing aircraft was superb. Unfortunately it became rather cold dark and windy so photography became quite difficult to catch fast moving aircraft. I was looking forward to getting a photo of a KLM 777 landing, unfortunately this wasn’t to be. I saw plenty taking off from the runway about 5 miles away in the distance and landing on another runway that I hadn’t seen behind me. After a couple of hours here I decided to go back to the main terminal because I was cold, wet, thirsty, hungry and needed the bog and as Tenthje describes , be prepared when you go to this location.

    Hi all,
Very surprised to see that according to Jethros, Excel Airways have leased both 9H-ADY and 9H-AER from Air Malta from the 01st of May until the 27th of May. Desperate short term cover? Whats up with some of the B738s? Why would they go for Airbuses with an all Boeing fleet?

Also MyTravel Airways are leasing a 757-200 from Finnair registered OH-LBX from the 01st of May until the 04th of October (Whole summer like G-CCMY last year). Will this aircraft be re-registered for its time with MyTravel? Interesting to see what hybrid it will be in…

Infact….. I was at Manchester this afternoon and saw the aformentioned 757. Here it appears to be decked in Finnair livery. Im glad I read this because this 757 landed straight after the Finnair Airbus A319 ! Confused ? Here’s a pic of it….

Is that Del, Rodney or Albert Twotter ?? Sorry ’bout that folks ! This may seem sort of daft, but do the schedules and times of these flights change in relation to the tides or not here??

The Monarch DC10, as somebody pointed out the other day has had scaffold around it…. Judging by this, it looks as if it’s getting the new Monarch livery to wear !!

I seem to think that Kev is right, I’m sure on my last visit I heard somebody mention that the shop will be moving last week next to where the food stall has gone. Essentially I think that what they are doing is just moving things further up to accomodate Concorde.

Lets all have a laugh at this toon fan !!!! Bet he was popular with his chums !!

    Taken from: http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/funny_old_game/3498982.stm

A Newcastle fan spent £800 on air fares to go and see his team in Europe, then realised he’d got the wrong city.

    Here’s where you should’ve gone

Dozy Anthony Crozier had got it into his head that the Magpies were playing Spanish side Real Mallorca in Malaga rather than Majorca.

So he went ahead and booked five air tickets for him and his mates, at a cost of £804.

When he realised his mistake, the 32-year-old engineer immediately contacted EasyJet, who sportingly refunded most of the money.

Sadly for Anthony, though, it was too late to book flights to Majorca for the game on 25 March.

“I don’t know how I made the mistake,” he groaned after breaking the news to his mates.

One friend, Tony Johnstone, added: “Tony has been on a diet recently – I think it’s affected his brain!”

Where do you go to at LBA ?
