BAA have categorised
CSA’s Vice President, Jiri Pos
I want to see CSA expanding the number of routes they have into Scotland. Glasgow is an obvious choice
Categorisation maybe not as clear cut ……
Britannia ( BY ) G-OBYA, G- BYAA, G-BYAL etc
I think Alicante flight times were changed some time back – maybe they just have not been updated on the computer that generates the arrivals / departures
GLA inbound
02.10 GRE2744 Palma Via Newcastle No remarks as yet
Ill keep an eye on the GLA inbound PMI via NCL due about 0230.
No Remarks as yet.
There not actually cancelled -its something to do with originally changed flight times which were programmed and EXS and GSM flight codes. All flights operate as normal.
Im not sure of the exact details.
over-capacity on GLA sunshine routes
With an overall increase in ” sunshine” routes this year, I fear, if the above is true, that operators have not done their homework. With extensive market research and analysis, somehow I think this is unlikely.
I just get the impression if Air Scotland were going under they would have gone by now. I think they will ride it out again.
Theres no reason why a short season to Athens will not work. 1, because in the late 80’s there were 3 or 4 popular flights per week from GLA to ATH, 2, because Athens typically is the the gateway for independent tourists who self-construct, to visit the Greek Isles, and 3 – obviously for the Olympics. 🙂
I was on a G-00B? ( cant remember which one) and it had fold down TV.
The amount of EDI versus GLA threads these days is nothing short of embarrasing
Harmless banter. Just avoid the post you don’t like ! 😉
We’ll take Qatar and whoever
You can have another short haul European carrier – We’ll have Qatar, and PIA.
I’m off to bed now. Speak soon. 🙂
I’ve not forgotton about the Concorde Avatar- its coming !
This year Transaero will open one more route to Great Britain. Regular flights from Moscow to Manchester are planning to be opened in autumn

Looks like MAN could steal your thunder, if MANs current runaway successes continue. MAN will get 767’s before EDI I think.
I’m certainly not saying its not an interesting route -its a great coup for EDI – I hope its a success. The Aeroflot flights from GLA in the 80’s certainly were.
US Air and EK are as common as muck now
Ill tell US and EK that they’re not wanted at EDI then !!! 😉
See pic of IL-62, TU-134, TU-154’s at GLA regular to Moscow 1980’s
Air Canada widebody 767 returns to Glasgow tomorrow( albeit for a shortened summer season due to the many WIDEBODIES) now on transaltantic runs.
Cough cough US AIR, cough cough EMIRATES. Don’t get me started, but I if I had to choose between a 737 to Russia and intercontinental widebodies, I know which one i’d choose!! 😀
Sorry thats all I’ll say – Ill not start a G vs E debate despite the provocation
Excellent. Eat that GLA fans
🙂
2 BGH flights on a Sunday at GLA – one Airbus A320, one always an TU-154
Wonder why you don’t really get many of the charter carriers in these scales.
I know there was an Air 2K Gemini 757 and I think there is a BY TUI 757 from Herpa, but I think thats about it. Bring on some Monarchs and maybe Excel. Some old skool models like Orion or Ambassador would be good. Seem to remember seeing a CKT Tristar at one point.
