Thanks for good beginning. There are many other photographs of this post but unfortunately don’t show the wheels or carriage.

I’ve got a picture of aircraft belonged to 56 OTU – Hurricane R4231, but have no idea if it was photographed at the airfield you mentioned. Maybe somebody can recognize hangars in the background.

I think that aircraft BG974 should look a little different. At least serial number of this Hawker Hurricane was painted in different manner.

The only Erprobungstelle that tested this Hurricane was Warner Brothers. The aircraft is a Canadian built Hurricane painted up to represent a Bf 109 for the wartime movie “Captains of the Clouds” starring James Cagney.

Anybody knows more details about Canadian Hurricanes starring Messerschmitts in this movie?

There are some additional shots from the sequence of “Belgian-Luftwaffe” Hurricane. Surpisingly I noticed that there is no radio antenna mast on the top of fuselage. But all Hurris used by Belgians and RAF had it. Close-up of the engine shows very early exhaust and installation for standard four guns in the wing. I checked through every available photographs of RAF Hurricanes used during French campaign and found NO! aircraft with two bladed propellers. So, it must be an Belgian AF example. The movie sequence is more confusing than I expected.

I still think that aircraft on the movie frame is one of Belgian Hurricanes. Aircraft used by RAF squadrons in France (including 501 Sqn) should have white and black undersides of wings. Am I right?

    Oh Goshh…
Spitfires again. I was asked for Hurricanes and did not intend to begin another discussion about Spitfires. There is clearly visible difference between both types. Can’t you see?

Sorry for misunderstanding. EARLY Hurricanes means L series Hurricanes with two blade propellers.

I am affraid that none of the Polish Air Force pilots was killed on 9th February 1941. There is not such a loss among Polish personnel.

And there is another view of the Finnish type skis. Those on the picture had different top fairing with additional step very useful for maintenance.
But studying of Finnish skis still not solved my problems with Norwegian ones. Is it possible that the only difference between all of the scandinavian skis is the fairings?

And it is not the end of Norwegian Gladiators mysteries…
