The man is definitely in the wrong job, merely a puppet for the penny pinching faceless MOD officials. He is certainly no friend of the veterans, me being one of them can vouch for that. After his last **** up over the National Defence Medal and it’s issue, same stance, none of us are worth a token of appreciation. I think he should be replaced by someone who gives a damn, shame on the man.

    Rant over 😡

It would appear that anything can be called art and good luck if you can get that sort of money from people with more money than sense for a bland, boring could be anywhere photograph.

You share my opinion of it Flygirl “utter crap” and that is being generous.

Air Experience flight in the RAF 1971, should have been in an Andover or similar, but either unserviceability or too many airman at Swinderby, whatever, enabled me to have my first flight in a 42 Squadron Nimrod when I was posted to RAF St Mawgan. Think I got the better deal in the end, a lovely power experience and long duration made it for me, plus was allowed on to the flight deck at night to watch the UK towns and cities from a great height.

Yes, a brilliant video indeed and I do like the idea of electric start, what kind of motor is capable of turning the mighty Avon to accomplish this feat? I look forward to your updates and with Avpin getting scarcer and also the cost involved, this is the way forward.

You are of course entitled to your view.

However, an accident was badly reported in these forums some 7 or 8 years ago, which led to the family of the pilot believing that their next of kin had been killed. That was not true, and is one of the reasons why, as moderators, we are sensitive to such threads.

When no news has been released, the press look to forums like this, where there could be some informed comment from people who were there, to gain their edge.

As I say, please keep rumours to a minimum. Do you see any reason not to?

    Bruce

Quite agree with you Bruce, pity about the attention seekers and so called experts without any common sense making out they know what actually happened. Patience is indeed the way to play this and all will become clear when the time is right.

Human rights, applicable only when it suits the Lawers, funny how we have waived human rights a tad during the London Riots, selective human rights methinks.

Bottom line, human rights is applicable to humans, not riotous Neanderthals.

Nice to see the progress and enthusiasm for the old girl. Was on 8 Squadron at Lossie from 1974-76 and had a great time working on the Shack, even got out to Malta with them on exercise. Happy days.
