Nitin, Go to Indian thread and be happy with your achievements. I fully support you on that. Do not start pointing and bashing at Pakistan. You are reported. It will cause flames and that is what we do not need here.
The truth hurts doesnt it PLA? When you start your pointless flag waving comparisons, expect some plain speaking in turn.
The way you gents aggrandize -you might very well start a comparison with Rwanda- Burundi and brag about the KSE etc. This fishing for praise, at any cost, is ludicrous and I am well within my rights to laugh at the sheer silliness of it all.
Comparing Pak to India is pointless- even a cursory look at where the two nations are in term of both geographic and economic size points out the same.
But then we are still stuck with assorted silliness on the lines of Pak Thuders list and the implied assertion of how Pakistan is about to defeat India etcetc.
Have you guys selected a Theme song yet? Every self respecting soap opera (such as PAF’s acqusitions) requires one.
While you are wet dreaming, consider the following realities.
1. The Pakistan dream list will take many years to get to fruition not just two.
2. The cost of these systems will end up cutting some of the acquisitions. For instance – Erieye and Hawkeye = $3 billion,P-3C,CIWS deal = $1.2 billion, 28 F-16s = $1.2 Billion, MLUs = 60 * $15 m = $900 million.
Total = $6.3 Billion. US baksheesh = $1.5 billion.
Gap = $4.8 billion
Pakistan’s defense budget is $3.1 billion as of this year.
Economic realities will make sure that some numbers will be cut down and also that the deliveries will be spread out over many, many years.
3. During the same years, India will acquire:
1. A dozen Scorpene subs and 2-3 Akulas :dev2:
2. 100 tracked and many times more wheeled SPA
3. 124 Arjuns and 310 T-90s plus 300 CI T-72s
4. More APCs
5. Homegrown AWACS in addition to Phalcon
6. 125 strike platforms – likely Mirage 2000-5s
7. Hundreds of towed arty
10. Brahmos – all 3 varieties
11. Greenpines and homegrown AD radarsetc. etc.
Pop goes the weasel :diablo:
GA,
If we sit down and catalogue the improvements India has made to its services in the past few years alone, Paks list seems ludicrous in comparison.
But then again, let them dream. They are dwarfed by India but cant seem to get over the “mine has to be bigger than yours” adage.
If in the process, they ignore their economy and education- which led them down the merry path to living on US handouts, thats their issue.
No.1 give a source.
No.2 the excerpts are misleading unless we go into the details: Which Blocks of the F16 did the M2000 take on and under what conditions.
What is CATIC? You are embrassing yourself with your limited knowledge
That would be the day! If you dont even know what AVIC and CATIC are, what the heck are you doing on an aviation board?
Your statement cannot make enter into service. About AFM bragging there is no other public information since than so it must be true. 😀
So Pakistan “designed and developed” the FC1?!
S-h-a-m-e-l-e-s-s! Stick to your Swedish “indigenous” Mushaks! Thats all you are good for! 😀
no body is saying you admire them.
I was referring to you and your flagrant a*ss kissing of anyone who has anything to do with Pak, even some third rate dictators like Kim Jong Il. 😀
They have MIG-29 for past 17 years and can supply components of various things as required.
And a handful of MiG29’s makes them a conduit of Russian weaponry? LOL
Bangladesh has had MiG29’s…why dont you fellows approach them? 😀
You understand the word Treatment? Russia will build the RD-33 according to there best quality to increase its exports while they will screw up foreign engines like Kaveris. I think they have given a very fair treatment to Kaveris 😀
So because the RD33’s are going to Pak they will be the best quality possible?
Kim Jong Il must have given transfer of technology then. In the fields of Industrial and Aerospace engineering, none can match the North Koreans. 😀
And Russia can screw up the Kaveri when it was accompanied by ~100 Indians on deputation from GTRE. Wow, they must have the Soviet version of James Bond then.
Talk about wishy washy nonsense. You are so woebegone at Indian acquisitions and the pathetic state of the PAF that you are clutching at straws. Sad. 😀
The logic is funny. We speak about Mig21 compared to F15…. And still the IAF Bison is seen as superior.
BS. The Bison can hold its own under certain conditions, but the F15 is in a different league.
Both North Korea and South Korea are very talented nations of East. One is communist and other capitalist.(both are against VETO to certain large Asian country 😮 )
Sure, we all admire Kim Jong Il- he is the epitome of excellence. He supplies weapons to Pak, we admire him for that. Etc, etc.
There is nothing wrong with there build quality or technolgy. NK is conduit of Russian weopons.
LOL. That is why the North Korean AF is equipped with Su30’s, their army has UOMZ T90’s…anymore BS?
That was war time and PAF and IAF fighters suppose to stay 10kM away from borders.
And about Kaveris isnt the word indegenous and and collapse outside the country a bit awkward.
LOL. The Kaveri is being *tested* in Russia using Russian *test facilities*, unlike the indigenous FC1 designed and developed by CATIC, flown by CATIC pilots and which comes equipped with an instruction booklet in Mandarin. Unlike the Norinco MBT 2000 which Pak has provided green paint for.
It is not difficult to find news about Arjun and its false inductions.
ROTFL. The Arjun is in IA service now, they can do what they want with it. Unlike your FC1 , which is being designed and developed by the Chinese but then the PAF is shameless enough to brag on AFM that it “designed and developed the FC1”.
may Allah help the FC-1 then….. uses a russian engine … doesn’t it ??
Nirav,
The RD33 is now French- you see thats what the PAF meant when they said the FC1 would be Yoorupean, no Russian stuff for them, they buy only from the best. Like the North Koreans. Best there is. Kim Jong Il Inc follows Six Sigma, TQM and all his facilities are ISO 9000 certified. Believe you me.
Remember the lock on claims of MIG-29 without firing a BVR and several time induction of Arjun when it is not in operational service even now. The same is true of Indegnous Kaveri when finally it collapsed in a foreign country. It needs medical treatment in France or US not Russia. 😀
The Arjun is on order and the Army has them. The Kaveri is being tested and failures are all too plausible given the learning curve. None claimed that the KAveri was inducted.
As regards “culture of false impressions” it would be better if we looked at a two bit army which hijacked a nation and buys missiles from starving North Korea, touts them as indigenous and names them after Arabs, thinking that makes them Arabs as well…talk about aspiring to “better positions”. :p
Its funny that you have to write this big paragraph. bulkof PAF F-7 airframes are of 90s era. IAF bulk of airframes is 70s era of which 75% is composed of MIGs and Most of it is unpgraded by modern standards.
LOL, heard of airframe upgrades?
It depends when the aircraft are actually built, upgraded and you cannot compare F-16 life with any aircraft in IAF inventory. It will outlast all of them.
The F7 upgrade the PAF carried out, is a farce! A limited radar, no MFD, no EW to speak of , no BVR ability…and we are to be impressed by the vintage and the fact that they are in Pakistani service?
I trust the poor AF’s worldwide which operate MiG29’s, F16’s etc of an earlier vintage are quaking in their boots, both at Star49s relevations and his deductive precision.
ofcourse it is revelation when bulk of airforce is composed of 70s era M2K, MIG-29, MIG-23/27 and Su-30K.
As compared to the 50’s era junk that makes up the PAF? LOL.
The angst in your replies makes ones day!
Yes i am waiting for that India decision. You better read Aviation Week 1994 issue where Russia clearly force down MIG-21 upgrade on India and It is from Indian airforce officials. Same is the case with Tu-142 upgrade. India also got alot of free and discounted suff from Soviets.
We dont need some article to tell how happy the IAF is with the Bison. When pilots describe it as a “relevation”,that says it all.
We have still come to the conclusion that an IAF ground attack Jag has no radar or FLIR or NVG compatibility, while PAF Mirages do
am I correct or not?
All I was trying to do was prove Ramachandaran wrong when he claimed PAF Mirages were “obsolete” compared to IAF Jags, and it seems all the posters have helped me prove my case
IAF Jags being inducted are NVG compatible.
The present fleet already has Litening integration.
The Mirage FLIR solution is not a pretty one. Limited FOV and range thanks to size restrictions. Would have been better off with pods if they could afford them.
