I don’t think the aircraft was converted from an Allison A-36 variant. If memory serves me right, Regina started with a P-51B/C centre section, which he completed with a D mainplane and sundry other components.

As the above poster pointed out it was a “B” wing that had a “D” fuselage converted to look like a “B” fuselage. The fuselage was modified by JOHN MUZALA”S shop PACIFIC FIGHTERS to “B” specs for the latest restoration.
Thank you for the update.I hope everything goes smooth this time. Congratulations to the TAF guys and many thanks to who ever is footing the bills on this project.
Now that HAWKER RESTORATIONS has completed the latest HURRICANE, is the HAC YAK-1 next in line for completion. They havnt updated the web site in awile. I cant wait to see some pictures of the wing and fuselage mated.
Go to the HAWKER RESTORATIONS web page and click on “current projects” There is a photo diary of the YAK-1 restoration. I have really
enjoyed watching the progress over the last few years on this project.
As an update to the above post. The system of FAA LOA’s is now obsolete.
The new system is similar, but more like a type rating that appears
right on the rating holders license. The FAA converted all current LOA
holders to the new system in the last year. I think you have until the
end on JUNE to convert you license, or risk having to requalify under the new
regulations.

I like how when an aircraft leaves the US for the UK how you all mention the healthy exchange bla bla bla. But when one leaves the UK for the US. We are plundering you aviation history.
How dare anyone condem STEVEN GREY .He has given more back to BRITISH HERITAGE than any of you. Does he have to bear the cost of all your dreams.
Everone seems to have great ideas of how people should spend thier money. Stop crying online, pool your money and make an offer. As we say in the USA “MONEY TALKS, AND BULLS##T WALKS”
cheers
I believe the TEMPEST with NELSON EZELL is his own personal aircraft. Which he plans to put together for himself. I am sure he will complete it someday, but running ones business always comes before personal projects.
