Sorry I wasnt aware your were an experienced DC3 pilot, how many hrs do you have on type?
Also as you say you have no knowledge of the Pilot of this DC3 and do not know of his experience levels.
As I said there is low, very low and to low. And I would generaly agree that this is a little wreckless. However it does amaze me when people spout from their arm chairs with praise for one and condemnation of another, without, in most cases any knolwedge or experience to back it up.
However if you are indeed a DC3 pilot of some experience you are in a position to coment.
Well said –

tony, just pm’d you.
wherever its from and whoever owns it – its over priced, bare in mind its gonna cost 4-5 times that to overhaul.
Ive been working with and keeping these things going for years and sadly collectors are buying these things up at top dollar and they think they have a pension fund. I’ve upset a lot of people by telling them this but hey – greed is soooooooo strong…

Many years ago, while visiting my late father at work, I met Wing commander William “Cherry” Vale, I didn’t know who he was at the time. He worked as a quality engineer for HEM engineering in Mansfield. He was a very calm and quiet man and never spoke to any one about his life in WWII. dad used to tell me Bills favourite saying when confronted by mouthy upstarts and tallentless management was “I’ve probably Killed better men than you” he and dad often spent time talking and he told of his time in Malta, Gibralta, the middle east. He wasnt an ace, he was a multiple ace and a really nice man. You wont find much on him because he told the truth about another “ace” whos plane is still being looked for in france. But if you do want to read more about this lovely man, look him up on the web – just type in Wing Commander William “Cherry” Vale.

YOU SEE, THERE IS MORE TO LIFE THAN BLOODY SPITFIRES –
I have to say I was very taken with the latet Aeroplane magazine air to air pictures of P7350 in her new clothes, more specifically with the period flying gear of her pilot.
Well done BBMF!
I recall mentioning some time ago on here, how nice it would be to see PA474 in flight with crew in similar period dress, however this was shouted down as unsafe etc etc blah blah by the arm chair HSE community experts.
Glad to see common sense prevail.
Now how about a similar one off for PA474 BBMF?
(eg a Duxford head on flightline photocall of current aircrew in front of PA474, similarly attired, beside a line up of in one to one position mirror, real ex Lanc veterans also similarly attired, then off goes the modern crew to PA474 and performs a sterling flypast. Bet there wouldn’t be a dry eye in the house.)
We used to wear period kit, for flypasts or photo shoots in my time on the flight, 1980s, in fact when i left, we were still wearing the cloth hats ha ha, good old days ….
…and this one is a real RR Merlin rocker cover.
It’s nice to see a rocker cover with the D number visable.
This is the same bloke I got my griffon cover from, it was
described as A1 and it was.

I suppose someone is working on the principal that if you ignore them ( us ), they will go away ;). I quite understand why operators don’t relish attention to their problems, and no doubt we would all feel the same.
Unfortunately, secrets are hard to keep these days, and concern eventually turns to curiosity, then conjecture, and finally humour..
As to the matter of hydraulic problems on Hurricanes, ask the BBMF !

That wasnt a hydraulics problem, it was a problem with the main uc opperating mechanism.
