I suppose someone is working on the principal that if you ignore them ( us ), they will go away ;). I quite understand why operators don’t relish attention to their problems, and no doubt we would all feel the same.
Unfortunately, secrets are hard to keep these days, and concern eventually turns to curiosity, then conjecture, and finally humour..
As to the matter of hydraulic problems on Hurricanes, ask the BBMF !

That wasnt a hydraulics problem, it was a problem with the main uc opperating mechanism.

I guess if its not an accident, its not reportable.
Are hydraulic problems common on preserved Hurricanes?
Bruce
No not at all, the only problem seems to be the seat to stick interface!!!
Alegedly…………………..

Zero-timed Merlins ‘found’ on an airfield – a unique opportunity !
.
at that price they’ll be staying there a long time too – still he thinks he’s got the crown jewells –
Below the CH-53 you mean?
I took it apart in Tablada, ready to put under the CH 53, its amazing how much you can get in a 7 1/2 ton truck ha ha
happy days …
wrong !! the dogs name was chosen for the codename for the mission ( an extremely important part of battle plans and history)
perhaps we can have opperation ” supermarket garden ” or ” opperation overtitledperson” for the new p.c. age
i too admire the tuskegee airmen ( how would it feel if important significant details were missing from a remake of that film ?? )
or if important details were left out of ” men of honour ” the carl brasheer story
yet one word that is historicaly correct, that is used in correct context in another film and everyone goes crazy
it is about time we grew up and took it as it was historicaly accurate !!
Well said –
Well that’s a very telling phrase. So what would be better?
Not many of the Asians I know have been able to laugh the abuse off so readily.
give n take – its easy, get over it…………
I can only echo the comments made by my team mate on the P-47.
Through the help of contacts here in the UK and the USA, photos that have not seen the light of day have been unearthed and used for reference.
We have a full set of Republic drawings for the P-47 including the numerous pages for stencils and details, all of which have been incorporated using period methods.
No modern plastic “spray through” masks have been used , the original stencil machines have been sourced and employed.
Several members of this forum have been allowed a sneak peek as we value their input, including professional engineers and all have been stunned by the apperance.
I want to thank you all for your input and to everyone who has let us get on with the job “behind the curtain” without being to pushy to see inside, by this time next week the covers will be down and you all will have seen her in all her glory.
Please keep checking the TFC Blog for updates.
Im sure when you see her it will be worth the wait.
See you all at Flying Legends.
Regards
bwb
Freddo – you and the boys on the P47 have created a masterpiece, and no so called expert, should – could or if they have any brains, would think any different – its a work of art in every way.
I do hope its the Indian markings option, the Last of the Many has already been done and really doesn’t represent the Hurri as a war machine…:(
No but its totally accurate for PZ. And as an ex BBMF guy, I for one would like to see PZ back in her original markings.
God bless her, a lovely woman.
