You can do it with a Merlin or a Griffon as well, I have, oops. Over primmed and a full set of flames from all twelve exhausts..

Yes, it was BBMF Lanc, I was in it and yes it was a bit overcast. Been to an event in Derby.
Bloody hell – have they up-rated the engines Stormin, I mean you aint no silth like being are you………..
I’m all in favour of revising/updating history, however I’m against selective revision.Sadly this is whats happening. That is whats wrong….

What you have to reallise is that we are now in the grip of “Politicaly Correct do gooding lefties” who will only see what they want to see. What is worse these “people” are getting them selves into positions where they can put there views forward and use there views to re-write history.
The trouble is, we will never be able to get passed this BULL SHYTE due to the fact we may know people who made the effort to to fight for the right for these sphinctres to spout there PC BULL SHYTE.
We have to start kicking back harder than they are. Old fashioned I admit but it’s the only thing these pillocks understand..

Over on the BBC website today
Moggy
Thanks for that Moggy, makes interesting reading as well.
mick.
Moocher – there are probably more than thirty active projects with FlyPast
Forum members as a minimum – do you want accurate reports on how all these projects are going as it could run to quite a bit of forum bandwith!
i don’t care what you do, i’m just fed up with the constant bleating and knocking down of the vulcan boys.
i can’t wait until it does fly, and then watch the bleaters congratulate themselves for a job well done and how wonderfully supportive they were to this project.
and just as an aside – be very carefull who you berate on this forum. you never know who is connected to who and which flying aeroplane.
my aeroplane is doing very well thank you, flying at displays most weekends.
mick or is it avros finest ? only i know 🙂
Ha ha, I’ve been reading this thread for days n days now and I have to say if nothing else it’s bloody entertaining. Bickering, snapping and moaning – Oh how we laughed…..
Anyway all I want to say is ” to all of you involved in getting 558 back in the air, I have my fingers crossed for you and wish you every success. You deserve good fortune and blue skies after all the effort put in “.
I for one am looking forward to seeing this wonderful aeroplane flying again.
As to the moaning minnies and highly tallented ******s and armchair experts out in “Flypast forum land” how is your historic aircraft coming along.

I don’t think he likes us over there either. No disrespect to the man but working with people who know him, I personally give him a wide birth when at Oshkosh. I am not on my own.
He is a living legend whatever my or anyone elses opinion.
As you say, an opinion only. I’ve met him twice and I can honestly say he is so full of himself.
As to legend status I should think it is built upon and fuelled by his own ego.

Left? I heard he was banned for not agreeing with a mod!
Great shame!
DID HE JUMP – OR WAS HE PUSHED –

Now there’s a question, what has happened to all the old engines that used to be stacked up along the width of the old Superhangar? Have they made a new display out of them?
Don’t ask duxford, they don’t know where they are either, they don’t even know what engines they have or where the log cards are.

First of all, get rid of the American hangar, sell it to Curry’s, add a new floor……:D
Somewhere in the pipeline should be grouping the British jets together, in line with what has been done with the American building, or maybe a cold war hangar (as previously suggested). An airliner hangar would be nice…… all walk through aircraft! A BoB hall like hendon would be good given what is at DX… oh the potential!….
I was going to coment on what to do with the “woodlouse” BnQ and the other modern tat buildings, however I keep getting a slanging for it, so, i say ram em. They’ve ruined Duxford. Why not put in a Ghost train, merry go round, musical fun house and a s&&t simulator – oh they already have.
mick…
The Sept 2006 Duxford show had all four currently airworthy 2 seat Spitfires attend. Unfortunetly the Saturday saw such high cross winds that the final Spitfire balbo was scrubbed and on the Sunday PT462 was unable to take off at the time of the display so only 3 flew (IAC161 as was, MJ627 and ML407) within the main formation.
Be nice if someone at Duxford could have another go at getting all 4 in the air together as a 4 ship – Hint! It would still be a first.
They find it hard to do things like that. It’s not up to Duxford, It’s up to the owners of the aeroplanes.
