I suppose it will be anorack time at Duxford on Wednesday or whenever the said container gets here. I cannot for the life in me see what all the fuss is about and why people give out what sounds like expert information when clearly I would think that the only people that really know what is going on would be the people at TFC. Bloody hell it’s only an aircraft!!!!!!
Never call it a plane Mr West it’s an Aeroplane ,:diablo:
In my humble opinion, the 1973 Mk IV with the uprated rear susspension was a dream…
However the 2.0 ltr straight 6 otherwise known as the GT6, when mastered was great fun.

Flying again today and again with John Romain in the drivers seat. ARCO were not directly involved in the engine change as OFMC have their own engineering staff. They did use our tie-down to make lots of noise though 🙂
Someones got to keep you ******s awake in your sleepy hollow 😀
For those of you who may be interested we flew ML407 this afternoon almost 63 years to the hour she earned her stripes..

Having just got out of the historic aviation industry I can also tell you that some very well backed/healed opperators are actually participating at below cost. Now that is a good way to kill off an industry.
But hey, what the hell, not my problem anymore..

I would have thought 96 would be a nice number for a Lanc. (Merlin)
Thats right and it’s real fun changing them. Mind you its not as bad as checking and re-setting the valve clearences, come on how many, 48 X 4 = 192 of the bloody things….

As you say, sad that there weren’t more former members there on Saturday. The photographs are stunning, as a former Flight member who was there thanks for posting such wonderful pictures. Some ex Flight members from the 1970’s and the 1980’s got together on Sat 5 May. We are endeavouring to gather up more members for a meeting in the summer.
Hi Phil,
Sign me up for a meeting in the summer, would be good to catch up with a few more from the “Good Old days”
It was a good day on Saturday and nice to see the old girls up together. A big thank you to the boys n girls for getting them all ready in time.

Going by the feelings around yesterday, I’m not sure “Groundcrew” can be mentioned in public !!.
