The meagre dusting of dandruff snow in the garden…

Only if you change the actual wheels which is classed as a modification – I checked with my insurer when I first started looking into the subject and found that many insurance companies, while advocating the use of winter tyres, actually want their customers to pay more on their premium for trying to reduce the likelihood of claiming for any damage caused by driving in wintery conditions.

One of the culprits is Churchill – they wanted £75 extra from one person for for fitting winter tyres yet they advocate exactly this on their website…

So steel wheels with winter tyres is a mod. Even buying an exact duplicate set of alloys to fit the tyres to would be classed as a modification as they were not original alloys!!!
Changing the tyres on the original rims is not a mod.

Crazy attitude but one that can perhaps be got around if you demand to speak to a manager – read “Admiral – Had the same Issue” By Rick__T on 1 December, 2010, 1:58pm

no insurance in the country would pass that in court. if you wave the legal stick in thier direction they will fold. you do it for road and your own safety not to line thier pockets.

my GTO has no problems in the snow, infact it loves every minute.

the best part is that i pass folk who dont know how to drive landrovers and any other 4×4 on hills. its great to watch thier faces as a low sleak sports car comes by them as they sit and polish the road.

i have been there for 3 months, i have been a valued member on two US based car forums. they speak as they wish (except for using the N word towards black folk) they reguard that as racist, anything els goes. i have also conversed with a few US cops and they are as down to earth as you or i or just me. but they use freedom of speach.

where the asians call us whatever they want we have to refer to them simply as asians. so yes it lives in this country if your not white and of true british ansestory.

in my eyes they are not welcome here let alone hold derogatory banners and burning poppy’s. they do not belong in our society!.

there isn’t any free speach any more Kev thats the problem! you read the replies to this thread and its all ”politically correct” in the free speach world like in face to face in the confinds of a house where no one els can hear so we dont get arrested for reality.

sorry this is our country those who originated from the first world war. Indians are more than welcome as they are or were part of the British Empire.

the country went soft and let everyone and its brother come and milk it.

if we had real freedom of speach like the US car forums we would say exactly what we want.
