Hi,
The part of the esci model fit well but the shape of this beautiful bomber is not really accurate. You need to do a lot of work to get a correct result. For example the shape and length of the lower “windows” is completeley false. You also need to re-build the fences.
But the global shape is correct => to build the nose of the B version, I have printed a 1/72e drawing and I was astonished to see that it really fit well the model 😀
If you are interested in building this model let me know, I’ll give you another tips for the construction 🙂
Hello Fabe,
As you probably noticed previously my english is not so good 🙁
“What is the fit like?” What is exactly your question ?
I must say that I’m very impressed by the ‘agitation’ that this post can produce 😀
Export Tu-22B and K seems to be a very carefully followed subject
Hello,
Thanks for the various profiles; it will be very usefull when I will start the painting of the brown/green color.
I fear the camo quest is a never ending story according to the previous post
@MANDRAKE_POE : “At the begining of the thread I posted the recce pic. I have recently come across a hi-res copy in AFM and from it you can make out what appears to be part of the camo pattern on the starboard wings of both Tu-22, the rest of the aircraft is pretty much destroyed.
Interestingly the two wing patterns do not match up at all. Whether or not they were delivered with different patterns or some were repainted at a later date is unclear but if I am correct it could be virtually impossible to establish the correct camo pattern of any one aircraft!”
What is the reference of the article you mention ? I’m very interested in buying the related issue of AirForceMonthly.
Do you succed to define the camo sheme for the wings ?
Concerning your plastic model I give a link where you will see the method I choose to build the specific nose of the B version : http://photobucket.com/albums/a141/hokum/
🙂
Hello,
I know that’s “just” an helo but the TIGER have done the MOST IMPRESSIVE demo at Le Bourget 😀
loops and back flip like RC helicopters ! when you know how it works you appreciate !
Thanks,
What did you use for the camo ? Pictures, Italieri guidelines ?
very nice result !
Hi,
I can’t go further for the painting of my model due to the lack of information on the wing camo pattern.
Could you share your pictures ?
Do you have some pictures of the wings of the Lybian blinder ? On interception pictures taken by US F4, it is very difficult to define the camo patern 🙁
According to Air Enthousiast, iraqi Blinders destroyed during the war have been scrapped but does anybody have some pictures of the surviving Libyan Tu-22B
I missed these 2 issues and order it asap but I think there is no information concerning this question (camo pattern and colour).
I suppose all the pictures are B&W and if not, Artur would mentioned the pages of these articles to answer your questions.
On the picture of the destroyed Tu-22U (rear view) it seems that the lighter colour can’t be green but something like sand or brown ???
Concerning the camo pattern, do you have some view or drawings ?
In fact I need it to finish my model (1/72e) of this famous bomber 😀
Do you think the entire pictures available on the Internet on Libyan and Iraqi Blinders are enclosed in the post you mentionned ? It is very difficult ti find information or picture of these Blinders
Hi,
Do you have some view of the camo of the upper side of the wings ? It seems that they had no ‘standard’ camo, all the camos of iraqi blinders were differents ?
On the picture of the destroyed iraqi blinder, it seems that is the same colours as for the lybians blinders ???
Hi,
I think the camo colours are sand and brown.
no green colours for iraki and libian blinder to my mind.
Grey/green might be suggested by the very poor quality B&W pictures.
Hi FABE,
I’m also a modeler interested in your video. Could you send it to this adress : alain.cuenca@waika9.com
Thanks,
Alain
