The aircraft involved was Hawk XX196 of 208Sqn.
Some of the Jindiviks went to Stafford and were later offered for sale via the MoD disposals web site, DSA or UK Surplus
(now Liguidity Services), I can’t remember which.
The others were transported under escort to a breakers yard for destruction.
One Jindivik remains with the ATC unit near to Llanbedr Airfield.

A Wessex tail rotor blade
A couple of aircraft compassesRich
Please tell me that the one at Foulness is not being used for gunnery practice…
It was used for target work and scrapped. Remains went to Hanningfield Metals with the cockpit possibly saved??
The MiG-27 on the Hanningfiled page. What was the story about that one? Were they moving it from Boscombe to Farnborough and what happened to it then?
It went to one of the test ranges, Pendine or Foulness, it turned up back at the yard some years back and was scrapped?
Excellent day, excellent venue, looking forward to next year. The Seahawk scrubbed up well after all those years in a scrapyard!
The same happened to a 74 Squadron Phantom FGR2 over Aberporth range in 1992 when a Skyflash took a lump out of the port intake after the phantom had lauched it. As the RAF Phantoms were on the verge of being phased out the aircraft was cat 5’d at Valley and was burnt on the fire training dump there a couple of years later.
The 74Sqn F4 damaged over Aberporth was XT895. After spending a few years on the dump at Valley it was chopped up, the cockpit went to the ranges at Foulness and the rest was scrapped.
