Adding to the collection of videos I’ve been giving links to, here is the next video in the collection. Check out these Phantoms at an Airbase in Germany. Their are some good close up shots on the ground of these fantastic fighters and crank up the volume on this one to as the J29’s sound superb!! 😀
Enjoy!!
Think you mean J79’s !
I agree with David Burke, transport costs are going to be high. If you want to move it safely and causing as least damage as possible, a suitable cradle will need to be constructed. Then you need to find a safe home for the restoration!! Next a frame to mount it on (don’t forget how you access a Vulcan) Tackling years of salt air corrosion, a totally gutted cockpit and what ever damage was caused when the cockpit was parted from the fuselage should be taken into consideration. Is there plenty of Vulcan parts available? I wish you well.
I think I saved the most important part of this aircraft, the F700 log book.
Why is the F111 there anyway? Phantom XV408 should be there under cover and restored back to its Blue colour scheme. A true Cold War Warrior if there ever was.
Thanks for all the help. The dhc-2 site is a ‘busy’ site to say the least. I think Middle Wallop could hold the answer.
