I am considering clearing out all my Harrier/SeaHarrier parts, if anyone is interested, I’m looking for Phantom and Tornado parts in trade.
Hi Matt
I’ve got the serial number cut from XR759 and the 5Sqn tail markings cut from another (can’t remember which one at the moment)
They are available for trade, looking for Phantom serials or Sqn markings!!!!
The TP nose seen at Solway was from G-AYFA.
I rescued that nose section from a scrapyard in Sandbach, Cheshire some 15 years ago after they had cut it up and removed it from Flight 1’s place at Staverton.
It went first to Warmingham, Cheshire then to Hooton Park and then, when we moved out of there it went on loan to Solway. From there it was sold to Derek Griffiths of the Int’l Cockpit Club. It’s whereabouts just now is uncertain (at least to me anyway).Anon.
Latest W&R has it at Mold, last noted 03-06

The dump at Valley in the late sixties contained the wreck of Meteor T.7 WA658……….?
The JP (T.4 XS177) by the shooting butts moved out early 2002 to Cosford, then to Ipswich and most recently to Metheringham, Lincs.
Hope that helps…….
I’d say it is one of the three Varsity T.1’s to end their days on the dump at Valley – WL689 WL670 or that last one being WJ943.
Quite! Suggest you check the link and look at the photos before posting F4M!

Link……I see no link……
Make note to ones self…….don’t joke on the forum and stick to what you know about…..
Sorry Chaps
Interesting to note it was posted on 1st April?
Yep, looks like Jag bits to me. Most Jag parts carry the prefix 121E as was mentioned earlier in the thread. What you thought was a camera is the remains of the PMD (projected map display) as used in the GR1 and T2. The GR3 and T4 Jag used a MPCD (multi purpose colour display) Hope that helps.
Vampire

Lots of Airbus Wings!!!!!
Yep it’s 497 on the move from Coningsby to Waddo, we helped with A.P’s to remove the outer wing sections and fuel tanks.
Look like Puma to me?
I was there a coulpe of months ago, the Wessex, XT762 was in a bad state having spent a lot of time on it’s side, the port side was badly crushed, I’d say it was too dangerous for a paintball site.
The Hunter arrived at Predannack in August 1993, it was spares recovered for a museum/collection and has since been used for U/C fires and crew extraction training, the rear fuselage has been burnt. I guess for a dedicated Hunter fan, the cockpit could be saved.
Only one SHAR at Predannack early August, and that one has been there some time. Plenty of GR.3’s though, five if I remember correctly.
What do we call sensible numbers?
Duxford and Hendon with ex RAF jets, Carlisle and Tangmere on loan, doing well, that’s 4!!!! A hand full of Gate Guards left, Manston dump, one decoy at Leeming on borrowed time
Even the Cold War Museum at Cosford only has half a Phantom!!!
So we are down to below 20 complete airframes and we’re still worried about the Hunter at the Airfix Humbrol factory!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I don’t think there are ‘sensible’ numbers left……………
Anybody know which Puma is in the sale?
