    DC3 Colours

    Thanks Alan,

I think it was permanently assigned to them. It was ferrying troops from Istres to Grove for R and R. I have been given wreckage by a farmer who collected it at the time, but he was not sure if it was from that or from a 617 Lancaster as they came down close to each other. The colours are brown and green

    Thank you

    Hi,

thanks to all of you so far. I have been looking at the flap that might be from a camera access port and it has another number on it

    38 627 40DHV

    Any ideas?

    Thanks

    Hello Nachtjagd,

thank you for doing that. Lavington is very much over the hill from where this came down, according to my witnesses this one came in upside down and created a large moonlike crater. Another Spitfire came down over the hill and I think this is the Lavngton one. Thank you very much for asking your friend though.
