If the moon landings were faked (which they were not!) how can they keep this a secret with the thousands of people who worked on the project, but they could not keep a former president’s sex life a secret !!..

MDF…. Hurricane.. I could not agree more!!..
But watching the Culture show on the beeb last night I didn’t know that Concorde had been built by the Bristol Company and Hawker Siddeley
Pehaps some one should tell them !

RE: Severed head causes Severe embarassment at US customs.
I presume the Customs people drew a line over taking the head on board, hence it becoming a “Headline”….. Sorry!

RE: Hurricane Instrumentation help needed
Herbert/Puukka
Firstly may i add that I am sorry to hear of your accident with the panel. I do hope You can get the bits to sort it out. I will keep my ears/eyes open for anything to help.
As for Your comments:-
“Are there really no more Hurricane Cockpit enthusiasts except Rocketeer?
Interesting, I know about 30 Spitfire instrument panel builder all around the world but Hurricane seems not to be that interesting for the collectors”
This about sums it up !!.. I put a thread on about the Hurricanes 70th anniversery and still people kept on about the Spitfire.. Dare we mention the Hurricane next year ??.. (Spit 60th) .. We shall see!!!..

Harriers in museums
FA2 ZD610 is now privately owned at Dunsfold.. Has just been rebuilt..
The term P1127(RAF) was a HS term and was renamed Harrier in 1967..
On the 10th of April 1973 I had the privalige of a ringside seat to see the demise of the 1st P1127(RAF) XV276 when during a maths lesson at My school in Cranleigh I saw it crash and the pilot eject !.. I was rapped over the knuckles by the teacher for staring out of the window but when I pointed He apologised!!.. After School Me and a friend went to see the wreckage.. The Pilot was OK…
I will add the classroom I was in was on the top floor of the three storey building facing Dunsfold.
“Sorry old bean saw the 1-11 and droppedzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz”
It seem’s to me that people dont realise that there is more to Avation than Military stuff!!!.. 🙂
Keep taking the pic’s TT
Home of BAC 1-11 production. site of the First flight of a 1-11 and no shots of ZMF, whats the world coming to!!..

The event at Brooklands was well supported, Shame about the weather..

We had Hurricane Pilots from various theatre’s signing, The Hurricane Soc. AGM, and a lecture by The Brooklands Aviation Curator on “Brooklands and the Hurricane”. Outside was a Merlin 35 that was run 3 times.
Sorry no pictures form Me, did not get a chance to use my camera all day!!

Yeovilton Air Day 2005
Firstly, Spey1-11, Great pics as always Sir.. Good to meet up with You down there..
As an ex 801sq Avionics engineer on FRS1’s I had not been to “Heron” since 1987 so thanks to friends I was able to come down to see the SHAR’s finale and also to meet some of the current 801sq people..
The show for me was very good, the obvious problems that You get at shows apart.. Shame to see the RAF let it down though!..
Sad to see the SHAR going as the FRS1/FA2 were fine aircraft perfectly suited for their role..
So till next July, (I hope to be there)
Thanks to all involved in the planning and operation of the show.
Totally agree Steve, After working on the Aircraft in 1994 and in 1999, and now pulling it in and out the hangers I would hate to see (should I say Distressed to see) anything happen. A good home is what She deserves!!!
Dare I say Brooklands…
Great to see the Vimy over Brooklands today, it even made the car fraternity stop and look !!! I also express My thanks to Peter for doing this..
Here’s to a happy retirement…
Nik
