    “FHC collections grumpy”

Grumpy is not owned by FHC anymore and has not flown for at least a Year. Now owned by Paul Allen in the USA but parked at North Weald (?).
It will be a shame to lose this one to the states !!..

    Spit over Biggin today?

Possibly the one He saw was enroute to Brooklands to do a flypast to comemerate Dizzy Addicote. We held Dizzy’s Memorial service at Brooklands this afternoon and the Spit Mk11 (with invasion stripes) did a decent flypast around 4pm..

EN380… Nice shots… Good to see the 1-11 rememered !!!..

At Brooklands We could play that game with 3 people as our 1-11 G-ASYD has its stairs operating by hydraulics but We would not promote it! 🙂

    MDF,
A thread was on this forum when the news about Cosford was released.. It quickly became apparent that in this country (UK) civil aviation does not interest many people. Civil Aviation = Airliners.. The original thread was removed and a new thread started which SHOULD have been the start of the “Hysteria” that You mentioned but it quickly faded from view… If this had been a Military collection I think the situation would have been slightly different !!..

VC-10 are still operated by the RAF (read an earlier message re cosford) but 707’s have never been operated by the RAF. excluding AWACS !!

Odd.. On one hand loads of us trying to save airfields from being housing estates and on the other trying to get a 3rd runway at LHR and demolish a village..

A strange world we live in …!!!!

    David,
“As for the ethics of cutting aircraft apart to move them by road – that’s a matter of personnal taste.”

How would You propose moving Concorde, without the wing cut, on the road then ??..
